Hi.
I'm new to this post, but want to get a pair of these heat sinks.
I've updated the WIKI to reflect my 2 pcs.
Let me know when/howe to pay and when they will arrive.
Thank You!

Any news
Has any one heard from Chris.
I have sent him an E-mail to ask for an update or status report or something. I have heard nothing.
I am starting to fear the worst.
Can any body help dispell my fears?

Well, if we track the history it looks like the order would have been placed on Friday 10/3/08. Considering the time differential, we can surmise that Conrad probably didn't receive it until the following Monday 10/6/08. They had quoted 3 weeks production due to the milling, drilling, etc... so we're up to Monday 10/27/08. I'm pretty sure something that heavy would transport via ship, which likely doesn't leave port on the day that our heatsinks are ready to go. I don't know if that assuages your fears any. Chris last posted over on the Tubes forum on 11/6.
Here's the news from Conrad less than a week ago:
Hello Chris,
You're probably wondering how your heatsink order is going:
1/ Dispatch should be late next week. We have been waiting on a back order of powder coating material from our supplier and I have been advised that this will be delivered early next week (Dulux - our supplier - has just moved manufacturing premises and this has caused a delay in their deliveries).
2/ Concerning the machining, preferred dimensions for the rebate would be 3.00x9.00mm, instead of the 3.00x8.00mm previously discussed. The reason for this is that the heatsink base thickness is nominally 8.00mm with a tolerance of -0.00, +0.50mm and we aim for 8.50mm as standard. In addition, a margin is required for the machining the rebate and in the past we have always gone for 9.00mm (to machine up to the base of the fins, the rebate depth needs to be at least the maximum base thickness plus something to break through the burrs). Although this may seem excessive, in practise it works well. My apologies for not picking this up initially and mentioning it to you before.
Could you let me know if 3.00x9.00mm is okay.
3/ Given the delay and the rebate issue, I thought it would be a good opportunity to send you a sample of the finished machined version. Let me know asap about the rebate dimensions, and I can send a sample next day latest and then 3 days by express courier (I'm happy to cover the freight cost). This may put despatch of the complete shipment back a day or two, but it would give you the chance to check the finished product and make any changes if necessary. I think it's worth doing.
I did go ahead and say 9mm was perfectly fine for the rebate. This shouldn't cause any problems that I can see.
Conrad just emailed me today and let me know it still is going to be a few days, delays keep unfortunately popping up. I will try my very best to get them out to all of you as soon as they arrive. The sample product will be here on Monday, I will post pictures as soon as I am able. Thanks for your patience, I am quite excited to see the first heat sink!

Chris,
Thanks for the update! As winter sets in here, it will be nice to have a good indoor project to work on.
Thanks again for putting this thing together. I know it has taken up a lot of your time.

Conrad accidentally sent the sample heat sink to the wrong address. I retrieved it today, and was impressed. The milling, tapping, and paint look very nice. Pictures coming tomorrow. By the way, I will not be able to confirm extra heat sinks that will be available yet. Many people have emailed me, if I confirmed and you paid then you are covered. If you did not receive a response, please wait until I receive the heat sinks. I will then let you know how many extras are available. Thanks again for your patience, Conrad promised to ship the entire package THIS week. Unfortunately, they probably will not make it in time for Christmas. 🙁
Chris:
I am in Seattle as I told you before. So if the heatsink is available before 18th. I can pick it up. Otherwise, I will have to wait until the end of January. I hope that is ok for you.

I am fine holding on to the heat sinks until you can pick them up.
Here's the pictures of the heat sinks as promised.
