True, but you do not need any heat sink.

Also you may have a look at the recent 78xx12 switchers replacing the old 7812 linear regulators.

Wow, this 10w at 4.5 ohm resistive load, without THD compensation from DAC and sound card (scarlet 2i2). No wonder it sounds great.

What more can I wish for? Amp sounds and measures great right off the bat, it’s dead silent and has more than enough power for room listening levels. These ps are dirt cheap, being literally thrown away. I have more confidence in branded second hand laptop supply than in any AliExpress sourced one.
