My ohmmeter says Mike's idea was an exceptional one. I put nylon shoulder washers on both ends of my transformer mounting bolts.

What is the toughest speaker you guys have driven with your Alephs? I have a friend who wants me to build an amp for him and likes the idea of single-ended class A. Thinking Aleph 2's 🙂

what offset did you land on once everything was to temp? Those matches are pretty good.

@tonyEE is running power hog Maggie’s with A2’s

Actually, the A5s drive the Maggie 1.7s well... but the A2s drive them much better -dynamics-.. not only do they play louder but there's a lot more bass coming of the speaker, it feels like an added octave in there.

It's not subtle.. you just NEED power... The First Hundred Watts matter sometimes.

Actually, the A5s drive the Maggie 1.7s well... but the A2s drive them much better -dynamics-.. not only do they play louder but there's a lot more bass coming of the speaker, it feels like an added octave in there.

It's not subtle.. you just NEED power... The First Hundred Watts matter sometimes.

tonyEE… if you had a chance to start over would you still get the Aleph 2 mono blocks?

Active rectification is the only way I go for Class A builds. The benefits far outweigh the higher cost.

Because of the high Vf of 2.73vdc I'm pondering a return to........

Which has a Vf of 1.1vdc
