Chassis for CD-Pro2 transport

Does anybody know somewhere to buy a decent chassis (at a decent price) for a CD-Pro2M transport? I have everything build and functional but I have not been able to box it in any decent way (for a few years).
Thanks,
Nic

Dear Nic all prts arround building a profssional chassis you find here:

I decided to join the fun and hopefully you guys can lead me in the right direction. (HooBoy!)
I recieved the kit about a month ago and was not able to carve enough time out to build it until now. I have the Cd Pro2 assembly and I'm on it now.
First, I did not get any schematic or instructions so I just now emailed hifidiy to send the links. I had no luck opening the links on the epay page or that Nic put up, essentially I get a Chinese 404.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get the pictures or assembly instructions online?
I am a very experienced builder and hope to only need a couple of things clearified here and there.

Hello dshortt,
Is it the mini CD-Pro chassis you have or the Big CD-Pro chassis?

OK, fist question. I can not find a picture or schematic of the remote control board. There are 2 resistors, a 10 ohm and a 5K. which is R1 and R2? I suspect R1 is the 10 ohm in the transistor's emitter and R2 is the 5K in the ceramic resonator's leg.

From reading up on ceramic resonators, a 5.6k resistor is used for damping the thickness resonance of a 455 khz resonator, usually in the 4 - 5 mhz range. So I'll stick with the 5k as R2 in the CR circuit. Learn something new every day.

Can someone out there please help. I am currently stuffing the mini cd pro main board, checking each component as I go and I think there may be a problem. Has anyone else noticed the following or do I have a pcb from a dodgy batch?

There seems to be some anomaly regarding the solder pads for Capacitor C20 (220uf/50v electrolytic) and rectifier D2. The positive pads appear to be connected to the negative plane on the upper surface of the pcb. Either that or the printing showing the orientation of the rectifier and capacitor are the wrong way round.

I would really appreciate it if somebody more knowledgeable than me could tell me what's what. Presumably if I connect the electrolyic the wrong way round it is going to go pop?

I would ask hifidiy but they dont seem to bother answering customer emails.

Also have a few other queries but will wait to get an answer to this first.

Thanks in advance,

Simon

Finally finished building my mini cd pro on Friday. Have left it burning in all weekend before I can test it at a pals house tonight - I don't yet own a DAC.

I can't get a peep out of the remote. I know that the IR led is sending something because I viewed it through my (IR sensitive) camera. I checked my whole build over several times but the remote does not operate at all. Any ideas?

From what I can tell so far, the only thing I don't like is the mains trafo that they supplied. Considering the compact size it is very noisy - unacceptably so as I can hear it from several feet away. They no longer supply the Plitron unit despite still advertising it so. The one supplied is a cheap Taiwanese part. Does anyone know where I can get a better one from? The secondary windings are somewhat unusual and would rather not pay for a custom wound unit if at all possible.

Thanks for your help
