Not to revive a dead thread but what was the tweeter used for these wave guides I'm consider building front channels based on these
I used a 5/8" ring radiator from BMS. I wouldn't do this again, for a few reasons:
1) from all of the things that we've learned over on the ATH thread, I think we can now say definitively that you can get 1" compression drivers to play to 18khz. IE, there's no real advantage to a 5/8" compression driver UNLESS you're building an array and just need to pack things together as tight as possible
2) if you look at the BMS spec sheet, it doesn't perform great, it's a bit of a dud. VERY high output for it's size, no doubt, but the curve is fairly ugly
3) Last I checked, the US distributor no longer sells them ("speakers and amps") Not sure if Jack from Assistance Audio can still get them.
The Unity horn that I published in 2023 performs better than this one, but that one ALSO had a semi-fatal flaw, which is that I opted for $12 midbasses and they don't work great on a horn. Probably need more motor force, a lower mms, or both. You get what you pay for lol. I've always had a thing for the MCM 55-1870, but that's mostly because I'm cheap! There are much better options in the $20-$40 range.

I love that forums like this one are still around - some of the information here is very valuable - even after years... I often see it as an archive, a lot of work went into all of these threads and the info often is valid even years later...Not to revive a dead thread but what was the tweeter used for these wave guides I'm consider building front channels based on these
Every time I am in a forum or facebook or discord where people start complaining about "leave this thread alone, its 2 months old...", I quickly see the disadvantages of such a "culture".... Every topic gets 200 threads, everyone asks the same questions over and over again - looking for an information is impossible... So no one bothers to learn how to search for "hat have others done before me" and information is scattered all over the pace.....
The culture here is: "the topic was relevant five years ago - I have a follo up question... so lets use the thread where the question belongs" - and I love it, that it is this way
so please, use this oldie 🙂
Fair enough
Do you know of any cds that would be applicable
Funnily enough the cheaper mids is part of what has me eying many of your designs
