In this picture (attached) you show a cable. You say, "make a cable like this." Okay, but it looks like the cable is soldered. I'm asking, can't you use a connector on those pins?

I'm making a distinction between this cable
and
the separate PCB you show in the other picture.

Hi lestertrad

Yes,the cable is soldered. On the picture,
It's the one I made before. Now I get the separate PCB for Double 7PIN to Single 14PIN.The separate PCB is the connector~

Wonderful.
Now I need to wait and see if kit works better.
Right now it is not working very well.
Does CD player need to be grounded ? I think that may be my problem.
Does anyone else have an answer?
TIA to all.

Problem with CD-ROM kit

Lots of times I have noise. Sometimes read problems. But when I touch the outside of the CD drive, problem goes away. No more noise.

CD drive is sitting on top of old cassette player. When I pick it up, it makes noise or stops playing. This is why I ask about possible ground (earth) problem.

When I have time I will try connecting a ground wire.

Hope you had a good sleep! ;-D

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Slowgay, I must apologize. The problem was not with the kit at all - it was with my cable!

I made a new digital cable to go from the CD drive to the DAC and now everything is fine: No noise, and I can even pick up the CD drive while operating and it still works fine.

The problem was a bad connection in my cable. So, when I touched or moved the CD drive, noise was caused.

It was not a problem with the kit or with grounding!

Again I am very sorry!

Now playing with new cable and Plextor 760A drive and the sound is wonderful!

Thanks again for such a fine kit

Lester
