I chose 15mm ply, because that's what I have, but 18mm might work better.

If you are not constricted to size and one sheet of ply, and you are not into v-plating, making the box deeper will lower the kick bump, due to the horn being longer, and will lower F3, due to the increase in rear chamber volume.

It's pretty heavy and awkward to carry alone. I will for sure install handles at some point. One idea I had, was to install a bar handle in the horn, that could double as a cone corrector. What do you guys think of that?

I am new, help me..... What is a manifold? That slot?
Welcome 🙂

What Maxolini said.

It is essentially a bass reflex cabinet, with a horn in front of the driver.

It is often referred to as a type of BP6P (band pass 6th order parallel), as both the front and rear of the driver are acoustically loaded/amplified and then combined resulting in high efficiency. In my build the front of the driver is loaded by the horn, and the back of the driver is loaded by the rear chamber and port.

The port delays the signal from the rear end of the driver, putting it in phase with the signal from the horn side of the driver, and giving it an additive effect, rather than a destructive effect.

I can recommend understanding bass reflex, offset driver horns and BP6P designs first. Then Manifolds will make more sense 🙂

I looked here but non of them are called "manifold"...

so a manifold type enclosure is slang for 6th order parallel bandpass?
No. It is a type of BP6P. Normally when people say BP6P, they are referring to an enclosure with one resonance chamber and one port on each side or the driver, tuned differently to make the interference additive.

On the Manifold design, the resonance chamber and port on the high tuning side of the driver has been replaced with a horn.

so its just slang for a BP6P where the front resonance chamber/port is expanding....got it

You can look at it however way you like, if it helps you. Ported chambers and horns function very differently. Ported chambers are Helmholtz resonators and horns are quarter wave resonators.

You can have an expanding port without it being a horn, and you can have a quater wave resonator that has no expansion. The definition depends on what effect is causing the acoustic loading.

I would recommend researching bass reflex enclosures (Helmholtz) and front loaded horns (quaterwave), to fully understand these two concepts separately, before trying to understand them combined 🙂

“So by definition, all 6th order band passes are manifolds or non of them are lol“
Is a tree a vegetable? Is a fortune cookie a doghnut? Is a group of 20 people a crowd? It depends on our definitions of things. I would not define a traditional BP6P as a Manifold, but you seem very eager to do so, so you do you, I wont judge 🙂
