Unfortunately that is only for the screen itself!

You will also need the controller board, power supply board and a bunch of other crap to make it work.

Also, look at the last pic, those flat ribbon cables are not going to be forgiving to be moved.

Good screen but keep looking!

Has anyone here have any experience building a sealed projector with First surface mirrors, 400 Watt halide bulb, fresnel lens, UV glass and LCD screen?

I am looking to make a high resolution projector like those DIY guys in the UK and Europe seem to be able to knock out.

Any Canadian references or North American sources for the components?

BTW - No offense TheNoodPoppler, but you have got to be a bachelor! 🙂 🙂

400W MH bulbs ( smaller compact ones ), ballast and cap should run you no more then $140 with taxes here in Ontario. my first one i bought ( when i didn't know any better ) came from a hydroponics dealer and cost me $220+!!!! as i wanted to build another projector i went out and asked some people at canadian tire and such as to where i could buy these bulbs? then told me local electrical shops.

anyways, my point is find an electrical shop and they should have them in stock, 400W MH's are VERY common.

Hertzblaster suggested that i use a 150w MHN doulble ended lamp by Philips. He says that you will also need to use a reflector and a condensor lens to get best results. The 150 MHN double ended lamp is brighter then just a 250w MH. I am thinking of going this root because Hertz knows what he is talking about!.
I cant wait to get my Proxima, so i can finally start on my pj!

got myself a 15"inch NEC LCD monitor..
350:1 C-ratio
16.7 million colors
25MS RT
STRIPPED!

on top of a Dukane 4003 ohp with 4000lumen light.
Ohp custom trimmed so 95% of the LCD is on the projector

NuView VGA converter box from factorydirect.ca
