Wow JB is getting so much (free) attention, and why are his technician friends constantly backing him?

One thing that has always intrigued me is that FX that look great on the big screen look very fake watched on a standard sized TV. Titanic was a prime example (although never sat through all of it. I knew it sank so why waste 2.5 hours on watching it sink, plus watched 'A night to remember' when about 9 and never the same after).
I have always assumed its related to the fact that film makers go out of their way to keep DoF as shallow as possible to steer what you are looking at. On a wall to wall screen this works well and distracts you from the CG. All messing with your head, which you as the audience willingly accept.
DoF varies, largely with taste. Sports have a huge DoF thousands of times beyond regular eye sight. That's more of the "HD" you see than resolution with them.
But on color, the quality of power to the TV and peripherals matters. It's the only consistent market where minor power conditioning is a norm because you can see it. Perhaps you could just add some Bybees inline to your TV 😛
I am not even saying the device (QP) doesn't work, as i have never tested it!
It is just that when i read through the product specs i feel ill.
like feeling to throw up kind of ill.
How can you possibly back this fraudulent gibberish?!
If it would have said, 'the coated resistor has a possitive effect on the sound', i wouldn't have a problem, as then it wouldn't have been marketed as some groundbreaking nobel price kind of device, but it is, and therefore is just FRAUD!
Wow, even more free publicity! Jack bybee and consorts are FRAUDS!
What?
Jack Bybee? a FRAUD?
2 months later:
Jack Bybee? who was that again?
Wasn't he that millitary researcher who in his work came accross this incredible invention which he then solely provided to a bunch of 'audiofiles' who also prefer bentley to small 5nd hand cheap cars?
Yeah great guy, he purifies al quantum noise out signals, don't know what it was doing there in the first place!
We owe him bigtime.

Lets provide hollow phrases and fuel on the fire,
the forums need to buzz, JB!
hallelujah praise the quantum purifying grace which flows through our audio altars
please open psalm 27 of your advanced quantum theory songbook and lets keep JB trending on DIYaudio,
so that he and his friends get all the attention and publicity they crave for and they stay in our thoughts, so that even our thoughts may be purified of all that quantum noise, amen

As far as I know we have almost infinite depth of field with our vision, its to do with how we view things not the eye structure (perception), which is why small DOF looks different to us in films and photos, it is not a natural vision thing.....
Just got a 70-200 f2.8 and at the 200 end on a full frame there is NO DOF but portraits look fab, with an out of focus background.(well bloody small)

Its a bit like watching a horse race on the TV,
And then watching it from a hill overlooking the race course..😀
LMAO about a 10 foot square of mad horses doing a break dance and the rest of the field empty..but on the TV its a different kettle of fish or horses if you see what I mean.
Bybee to the moon and let me hear a song in tune..😀

How does that tall with the fact that only a tiny bit of of our field of vision is actually in focus? We have to scan a scene. unless you are in blinding light eyes run at a fairly low F-stop as well.
Annoyed that even cuttlefish have better eyesight than we do! Not fair.
needles stuck in places
I've learned to reduce pain, to the level of completely blocking it out, for some things.
(Combination of a very careless lifestyle, loads of pain, and a lot of practice. To keep things on a civilised level, let's skip the psycho-logical aspects, which are plenty)
When I need minor surgery, I tell they can leave the anaesthetic. Doesn't work with everything.
I visited the dentist yesterday, and as after every 6 month stop, the air-powder polishing makes my jaw area feel for 48 hours like it has been hit by a horse hoof.
Turn me angry, and I will go through whatever physical material is in my way, with the entire pain sensory pathway in shutdown mode.
Phantom (illusion) : an experience without material substance, without external stimulant.
For all 6 senses, the external stimulant is there.
What you phrase as Phantom, is the result of overstimulation, leading to an illusion.
Is it there, is it real ?

Rambo is alive and well in the low countries!
Bar some muscle injuries in my lower back I have not been a friend of pain over the years (well bar grit under contact lenses). However having had sciatica I have had enough of an inkling of what real pain is to know I don't want to go there!
Jeez, your dentist looks like an animal.
Not seen marathon man and the classic 'is it safe' scene?

Mine is fat with glasses, drives an Alfa MiTo, and totally boring.
He buys yachting magazines, but finds having/buying a boat too tiresome.
(I fantasize that he does crack, runs empty on bdsm prostitutes, or at least invested all his savings in Nokia stock)

Took me a second to recognize it. At first glance it looked like Patrick Stewrt's character in a scene from Conspiracy Theory. Then when I saw he had a dental tool I realized what it was from.

One thought is; people brought up with acupuncture will have a greater belief in its effectiveness so it works better on them, similar to the western worlds dislike of insects, passed down from parents to their kids.
Weird thing is I met this guy while walking my dog and his dog could barely move. Then a few weeks later I saw him again, his dog bouncing around like a puppy. Turns out he found a vet who does acupuncture on animals with great success.
Reflexology is another one which is surprisingly effective.
Never believed it could possibly work until it was part of the treatment when I was in hospital. My wife is quite happy about it as there is a point between heel and calf muscle that relieves period pains when squeezed.

My wife relieves hers by screaming and punching me.
surprisingly effective.
The level of scepticism in the Western world towards non-traditional health care techniques remains surprising.
The sheer scope of quack practices is only part of the answer.
(my g/f is a chronic pain expert, which is quite handy to be around for a chronic pain individual)

Cameras vs. The Human Eye
It might seem that way, but no. Try to focus on something 10m away, and something behind it 160m. You can't be seeing both at once. However this is possible when watching sports or looking at a photograph. Even what is in the "frame" can't remain crisp without a refocus, as you have to directly look at it. If you close one eye you can exaggerate the affect.
Our eyes are around f3.5 but we can see down to very low light (especially when healthy). Cameras at f3.5 that can get anything at that have lost all quality. The trick is our brains do so much processing with what we get, it appears like we have f0.9 or so.. But if we did our heads would have to be larger to fit our eyeballs. Our brains are more special than our eyeballs.
My wife relieves hers by screaming and punching me.
Somehow I rather receive gratitude than a punch in the teeth but each to their own. ;-)
