That's it:
PushPull:
positive half * Gain (upper Fet) + negative half * Gain (lower Fet) = Both half * Gain
Single Ended:
positive and negative half are amplified with one Transistor
(Bias must be in the middle of Curve)

fine work Kamel and Botte......!🙂🙂🙂
Zen Mod must be in the wrong thread.....doing gymnastics or he is coming from a party....or he tries to do Bavarian dancing.... please tell us ZM...😀😀😀

My wife saw me doing what ZM suggested and joined in thinking it was some sort of new Yoga routine. It does give a nce workout!

Bavarian Dancing , off course
just imagine me in Lederhosen

ok - simple explanation without elastic thingies :
ya see Q3, Q4 and R13
presume that PSU voltage is +/-22V5
let say that we are going to replace both Q3 and Q4 (along withtheir source resistors) with (variable ) resistors with value of U/I=22V5/0,045=500R
DC is flowing from Q3 to and through Q4 ;
now imagine that we are giving some sine on input , which result in opening ( down-going half cycle) Q3 and resulting in halving that virtual resistance of 500R , so we have 250R
DC can't go entirely to Q4 and must go through R13
but - in same time , same down-going half cycle is governing Q4 too , resulting in increasing it's virtual resistance to 750R
result is that current flowing from Q3 have even lesser possibility to flow through Q4 and that difference must go again through R13
now - turn schm for 180degs and repeat mental gymnastic
simple , isn't it - same as two hands and rubber string

wow.... first time I saw electronic gymnastics.....this way of understanding is not learned up to now....
you are all witness of a new area of electronic teaching........
can I be your representative for Germany ZM ?......😀😀😀

I think I got it:
Gain won't added in first Stage because they don't share the "Load Resistor" which is ( R6 respectively R7) but in second Stage they share Load Resistor...
So Gain is: A1*(A2+A2) = 0.7*(13+13) = 18.2 (or idealized 1*(15+15) = 30) 🙂🙂

only if I can park my spare Lederhosen in your flat/house/apartment

I’ll yield to you ZM (though we still haven’t answered the question of why the gain is not what Nelson described.) I love my BA-3 with a gain of 8.5 it sounds great!
P.S. I haven’t seen anyone post that they have a gain of 30dB. I’m just sayin.. 😀

Pa is a man with multiple virtues
one of them is that he doesn't care too much for numbers , sometimes .

frankly - I didn't build that stage , I didn't calc it's gain ..... and I don't believe too much in numbers , too
(but not from same reasons as Pa ; he knows da numbers , I'm dumb for that )
Generg - what's gain of your BA3 FE , built by the book ?

waidaminit - that's 3 pairs of Lederhosen

Ha, then you don't really live in Mannheim.... BUSTED! 🙂Naah park them at my Place, which is only 30km away from Okoberfest 😀
Although it may feel like 30km, if you can hear all the hooting and hollering coming from the Paulaner Tent...
Sorry, OT, but I can't really contribute anything to the thread itself.

Generg - what's gain of your BA3 FE , built by the book ?
The same gain like Botte between x8 and x9... for the unbalanced version😀
Yes I study in Mannheim, but currently I'll do my Internship in Freising (near Munich)... sorry for OT...
For Ontopic: So Gain won't be added in second Stage? I'm going crazy... I never calculated a PP Amplifier...

simple explanation without elastic thingies ::
Of course, inherent to classA
a current increase in the upper Q correspond to an equivalent decrease in the lower Q
I was on the moon.
elastic wasn't talking to me.🙂
