Burning Amp 2024!

@AdamThorne yeah...it's a really tiny box and I don't remember what the F3 would be off the top of my head without it...but it's like 120-150Hz and a high Q, so quite a bit of peaking.
With the cap assist (330uF) that becomes about 80Hz F3, with the peaking removed, and the benefit of reduced low frequency excursion cleaning up intermodulation/amplitude modulation distortion a bit...so cleaner sound than a typical 4" full ranger being asked to do highs and lows...then when you throw in the little SB 3/4" tweeter, front firing like the old Allison CD6 configuration you get an even more pleasing high end. Crossover is purposefully REALLY simple (series R-C on the tweeter only) for a few reasons...one, it gets the overall power response good enough and protects the tweeter while making it simple for the build campers to get it done in a limited amount of time.
I could get a flatter response, or an even better power response but in a cube with internal dimensions of 5"x5"x5" you run out of room for the crossover really fast and you'd probably spend as much on crossover parts as you would one of the drivers (or maybe both)
All in all I use my pair for bedroom speakers where I can put them next to a boundary (against a wall) and they provide really good output/sound quality for as simple as they are.

It's 6PM PST!!! Hah.... it was a race condition... anyhow, I got my $210 of tickets... Amp Camp and two days.

I didn't see the tickets for the beer.

I tried to buy 30 seats for Amp Camp so I could bring my Romanian buddies but it wouldn't let me.
