I don't know about silver-mica. Styroflex is the best isolator so I prefer to use that.

TNT what size did you take and why?
If Rout is 650ohm a 10nF should do the trick I guess.
2,2 nF. Wanted a little lower than stock 1,5nF for -3dB at 165 khz.
10 nF -> 26k... isn't that a little low - but it will work!?

Of course 😀 Phase shift could play a role already with this low low pass. In terms of tube stuff. Possible 😀
I have to do the soldering still and will remove it without replacement.
I know you said that your amp does not like HF but do we actually know what Frequenz could come out of the dam1121 and would it really audibly “hurt” your amp?
I’m designing a small pcb for connecting 4 dam1121. Lets see how that goes 😀
I think I'm safe this way 🙂
Four DAM.. how do you use them?
//
As I already mentioned. I’m interested in parallel dual mono. So 2 boards in balanced mono for R and two in balanced mono for L.
Okey, stacking!
//
I designed the PCB with the LVDS clock wire being the most important connection and after that the I2S as that will be reclocked.
With your two 1121 being so far from each other, you have no problems with clocking? I suppose you just have both in Master mode and not synchronised?
And how wil it be with Silver Micas TNT. Can I do the trick also on the 1121?
BTW just try those silver micas, normally used as bypass C but should work. Still if you have anything that’s band limiting on the way to the amp or in entrance of amp, just try without.
(And Report back😉
Cool!
Both as Masters - yes. No syncing. Just "cloned" Toslink links.
Rock solid center and stable sound-field - equal to that of a one board DAC as far as I can tell.

It became a revelation. Really. It's like a new system. Really.
But we also know how the mind play tricks on us. So I will come back in a few days and report if it sticks.
So. After a day or three have you changed your mind or tempered your reaction??
I'm keeping them for sure ;-)
I cant ignore my experienced change in stage, resolution, bass performance and general "musicality". Be it real or placebo :-D

Good enough for me. Ordered them. Shall post my experience. Be it real or placebo🙂 🙂

Derekr have you tried without any cap yet?
You don’t need one if somewhere in your chain is a frequency limiting filter or so.

Yes, I know. May try removing them over the weekend. Do you have an 1121?

If you go back a few pages you’ll find my dual mono dam1121 setup with p2p wired tube buffer and TVC.
I haven’t done the mod myself yet because I want to upgrade the hole system with stacked dual mono so 2 dam1121 per mono side in parallel and 2 TVCs one before and one after the buffer (and adding dc heater) and that is being developed - some PCBs an Arduino to control everything and a Raspberry displaying roon. So this will take place when I open the existing DAC to rearrange.
Ok, I did it anyway this morning. And now I do regret every day that I’ve listened to this output C filter.
So my further project is delayed for at least half a year 😀

@janho12345, did you use 2200pF too?
Ok. One more time.
I do use a TVC that is a transformer which is Band limiting itself. After that, is my tube buffer with a grid stopper - that is a RC filter because of the miller capacity of the tube.
Resümee: no „Output“ C anymore on the dam1121, nothing. Pure joy 😀
