I have a richter scale somewhere . I'm not sure of the slopes
With 1.5 watts you aren't gonna need to be concerned about using it for this project. 😀
MJK what slope do use on the woofer 12?
I use 12 dB/octave filters for both drivers.
Martin good to see your posts... I built the GW 18'' driver H-Frames of yours and love them, even though they are closer to boundaries than recommended.. Love them as low end under my fe 108sigma BIB's and enjoying the sound 🙂
As far as amps, love my Decware Taboo but using SS on the low end.. I think as far as all that amp war stuff to each their own.. I like the glow in the dim light lol 🙂
I'd like to go full OB someday when I have the room to set them up properly, and maybe go for a 6'' or 6.5 as a compromise between the smaller 4'' or so camp and the 8'' etc..
Anyhow, the 18''H-Frames for the money are really nice!!

wait 400 hz on the 126 sounds a bit high.
Seems like there would be a lot of sound missing
The high pass electrical crossover is 400 Hz, the resulting acoustic crossover for the FE-126E is 200 Hz. The higher electrical crossover frequency means less cone motion at low frequencies. The dipole hump is the acoustic trick to extend the system down to 200 Hz.

Thanks, I don't post much on forums anymore.
For the price of the Goldwood drivers and the relatively small size of the H frame the bass is amazing. If there was a bass/dollar metric, the H frames would rank very high.
Martin
I think you should look at the smaller full rangers as Martin suggested. Why pay a premium for a driver that has lower bass when the Goldwoods are going to handle that? Martin said he is using a fostex 126en and that makes sense.
Hi Bigfishe - If you already have a 126 on hand then you get to play around and gain a bit of knowledge for little cost in parts. So - grab a hunk of plywood then go play and see what you get. A 126 on a mid (8 inch) to large (24 inch) sized baffle will sound pretty darn good - plus with the smaller driver there will be less problems with beaming at the higher frequencies.
Still sorta wasted on me - I've been spoiled by my AMT1's 🙄

OK - found this interesting link - di-pole horn 126 with H-baffle bass. Ya will need abuncha more plywood to get 'em going!!!! Not the best audio on the YouTube clip - but that's to be expected. Still - to my hearing the set-up has that hollow playing inna box sorta sound - maybe some damping on the backside of the speakers would help.

I've seen that before. Yes it has that unstuffed boxy sound woody I would say.
I'm working on a supra baffle to set on top of the H Frames . After the holidays you should come by for a listen

Hi Steve - Just a couple of quick shots as I don't want to stray to far off topic. Dez speakers ain't OB's - well - not quite................... they are (gasp - THE dirty word for some) Omni directional!!!!!! The thread is over on the Walsh 5 remakes - so dis is all I'm gonna say about 'em on this thread. (Just my attempt to stay OT here - not being a [insert your fav phrase 🤐 here])..

The discussion of these starts around post 289 on that thread. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/100390-ohm-acoustics-walsh-f-speaker-remakes.html
WARNING - the thread about the Walsh 5 remakes starts a discussion with BudP about his EnABL pok-(alotta-)dot process. Exposure to this process and the threads on how to apply pokadot's could result in the reader needing to seek personal psychological counseling as well as a really good optometrist. Don't come back whining that you haven't been warned!!! 😱
