I've just uploaded the new V1.1 guide for the Bufallo III.

It now includes the board lay-outs of the S/PDIF-4 Input Board V1.1, and the switch module (thanks to Brian). The use of the new Input Board revision is also described (thanks to Brian and Russ), and the extended bill of materials is expanded.

What Should TWP do without you Leon ?
Write more documents MUCH faster? 😉

Seriously, it's a lot of work to write good documentation. Russ' style is compact and technically extremely accurate, but that makes it much harder to read for the less technical oriented builder. Also he obviously has a lot of work, which resulted in manuals being late or not up to date. This limited the usability of the modules for many users and increased pressure on the support forums (so even more work for Brian and Russ).

The situation simply had to change. Upgrading the manuals to include the answers for the most frequently asked questions was IMO less work than answering all of the questions again and again. Having done that I now try to include most of the new information Russ and Brian hand out to people that have questions, and try to rewrite the information (make it clearer than before) if people remain having questions about certain parts of the guide.

And it's good to see people actually read the guide, and appreciate the work I put into it.

Leon,

Your *augmented* manual for the Buffalo III is absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for your efforts.

Anand.

Yeah, thanks for changing it up Brian and listing on a Tuesday!! I just happened to look last night and got lucky!! Now I need to decide on I/V, switching, transformers, power supply.
Just scratched built a cost no object 76/26/2A3 amp with Slagle iron and looking to do the same with the Buffalo. Can you steer me in the right direction for I/V and power supplies/transformer. The 2 stage amp is easily driven by a 1v input so output voltage is not so important. I asked Dave if he has wound any special transformers for the ESS DAC so that's another option.
I purchased the kit with 4 shunt regulators

I will be taking more pre-orders soon. I am working on a way to take more orders earlier, and fill them later. It may end up being a pre-order list with a refundable partial payment up front, then full payment as the shipping date approaches.

More on that later.

In the mean time, I will just open up more pre-orders soon.

Hmm I just got an information that you sell the dac via mail.
