Re: a couple of questions...
Or even the schematic for relays PCB for signal switching????

I'm starting to gather parts for a BoSoZ, and I'm interested in your use of relays for signal switching. Any recommendations from relays you've tried?
Thanks,
Ren

I don't have a schematic, only artwork which I posted earlier. It's pretty easy and you can figure it out. Here is a picture from my other preamp with similar relay switching. I'm switching both ground and signal. Recently I've read on Dynaudio preamp, and they have all the relays active all the time, except for the one which is switching the source. It seems like even better idea.
I pick my relays on sale, and always look for quality ones. Those I've seen in FM Accoustics equipment and since they Swiss made I thought they must be good.😉
The copper plate was a piece of scrap I had. Since the casing for preamp was done out of 1/16" sheet metal I wanted to reinforce the bottom were the transformer was mounted . It also provides the shielding for equipment which might be located below.
Anybody who wants to see my preamp which wasn't done "on a shoestring" can have a look here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3629&highlight=son+of+dork;)

Connect RCA plug to positive input on balanced BOZ, ground the negative input. You will have balanced signal on the output.

Input rca's ( from cd player.. )
out put to alephs Balanced plugs
out put to xover for subs then to amps via rca out..
will the amps be in balanced mode even though the cd player is rca non balanced in..

Here is a layout. Just use positive side of power supply http://www.passdiy.com/pdf/balzenpre.pdf BBOZ and P1.7 are using very similar supply.
You preamp will work balanced with RCA input. So how we arrange relays shipping?😉

balanced input
so how does p2 on the schematic control anything if both sides are at the same potential peter?

Re: balanced input
If they are at the same potential there is no signal coming out of a preamp. Then p2 doesn't control anything.

Hello Peter, I too am trying to decide on a Preamp for the Aelph Amps. I am considereing the BSOZ and Aelph 1.7, any comments?
Do you prefer one over the other?

I'm already building P1.7. Somebody who built both commented that P1.7 had more detail and he prefered it overall.

Thanks Peter, are you using PCB-Designs board?
I think maybe you have decided to go PTP?

Peter,
you said that "The case was bought from my local Chinese store".
I'm looking for a case for my first DIY.
Can you tell me about this Ancient Chinese Secret? I want to get two cases of similar or better quality, but I don't know where to look.
Thanks,
Eric Le Bourhis
