Bora is a nice guy from Serbia - Yugoslávia

Bora told me: - those amplifiers published, many of them, were not tested yet

Only 2 or 3 were already constructed and debugged real life.

This way, if you decide to construct those amplifiers, do that under your own risk.

Knowing, in advance, that non tested designs, use to create some problems in real life, that will need experience in circuits to fix them.... and that experience can be understood as:

"A direct ratio related the time you have suffered fixing things in your past...the more you suffered, the more you have fixed, the more experienced in bugs you are...no book can teach you that!"

Maybe some change in biasing...some correction in the off set control....sometimes some change in operation point of transistors...well...those practical and daily adjustments we use to make....the ones that usually construct amplifiers... sometimes typping errors with wrong resistance values...inverted condensers and things alike.... all those things happens.

Bora will help...but cannot track daily as i told...this way, you may feel yourself alone for some period of time.

If you do not feel yourself as a extremelly experienced guy in constructions, those ones laugh when face problems that will be certainly fixed in a matter of minutes...do not even try to construct.... a lot of chances to feel sad, frustrated, and depending your character, will blame me or Bora.

This is what i suggest you..do construction of those amplifiers if experienced. .as Bora will not be able to be with us around the clock...he may visit us twice a week having some minutes to help us.

Mails entering his home are too much to be answered on time....so.... i was too much fast to publish those schematics.

They may work fine...all them...but for sure, some of them will need small modifications to operate...in special when people use other transistors different related the specified... sometimes the user need to use other voltage, or other output impedance...all those things adjustable by experienced constructors.

And human errors can happens too.... the Designer is an experienced teacher, a Doctor...but he is not a God... he can fail...not exactly as everyone can fail..but he can fail too.

No amplifier is "plug and play".... even factories have production line bugs to fix, parts to be changed and unexpected problems.

Non tested amplifiers are more dangerous than factory ones.

Carlos

I would be happy to receive Doctor Bora here, as this is his thread.

Unfortunatelly, seems to me that he continue sick.

I hope the healing reach him soon.

Do you know what happened with him Victor?.... the disease?....i think has some connection to the heart.

regards,

Carlos

I don't know.I will ask him.Maybe hi found nice lady and because of that he is busy!

😀 😀 😀

Ahahaha.....really?....but his heart can face those things?

Ahahahaha....

Dear Bora is an old folk alike me. LOL

Hello everybody!
It is nice to see that real friends are caring and warring about my health. It is not extremely serious but it is not naïve either! Years are taking their tool and sometimes health is not the only reason for my absence. I am almost permanently quite heavily loaded with various aspects of everyday problems, duties and issues, and at the end of the day I am just not filling like typing E-mails or answers on forums… It’s simply just like that…! My close friends know me as an fanatic sometimes spending 5..7 or even more hours every day in my lab, but that time is long gone… in a last few years there were periods of whole month or two when I haven’t touch soldering iron, something that was almost unthinkable before when I am in concern!
On the other hand, I still enjoy designing things but if there is something I really don’t like (actually – hate!) it is to explain my work… why I done something that way and not some other way etc. etc.

Regarding those new ideas and designs that Carlos has already posted here, well, most of them are still not tested in practice (except: my version of DOGC, Line stage with LF411 and classA power amp Kappa2C). I am currently working on BRAVURA and ThermalTrak-2 designs. Boards for both projects are ready and most of components are already on the bench. I have very limited free time this days to do all those prototypes, and any help in a form of courage to “wrestle” with unproven design will be very welcomed by me. Even thou I can’t give any firm guarantee that those ideas will work 100%, I am very confident that it should be possible to make them working by an average dexterous and experienced builder (possessing a pinch of stubbornness could be beneficial as well  )

For such brave pioneers I can offer to design a PCB for any particular design and to send graphic-film in a 1:1 scale for that. Their only (moral!) obligation is to publish here on forum final results and impressions for everyone to benefit! This is DIY brotherhood and nothing should be charged for friends wherever they are! That’s how I look at those things… others don’t have to agree…!

Sorry Carlos but you are wrong! I am not that old like you... I am ONLY 53!😀 :smash:

hehe...i am 55..going to 56 soon...no problem

You are not old...so.... i am not old too.

Happy because you honored us with your presence.

We are able to perceive defects in our friends character or behavior...but we forgive those things watching qualities only.

The ones with small qualities are not our friends.

thanks,

Carlos

Well, I am so glad to see one more enthusiast somewhere in the world trusting my design and building it for pleasure and pride! That is the paramount prize a designer... at least it is for me... I am not an "American dream" follower!

Yes, you can use TIP35C/36C for initial ("quiet") power-up just to see if everything is OK. They will probably survive all but hardest tests on full power and with significantly reactive loads! For later, permanent use, I will suggest slightly better, more modern and more capable components of the MJL4281A/4302A or MJL21193/21194 class.

Keep us up to date about your progress and listening impressions! All the best!!!

Mr. Jagodic, because so many fuss exists the last month about the practical application of your LEGEND amplifier by our friend Sakis from Greece, i tried to give a help by redrawing your original plan which posted to me by Sakis before one month. I ask your comprehension for my intervention in your intellectual property, but the drawn under this manner it is a standard in audio amplifiers theoretical design as you know, to be easy comprehensible. I hope to not be angry with me, and i ask - if you have the kindness - from you to confirm that the values of components and the circuit nets and nodes are connected correctly in my redraw.
Kind Regards

Hello Fotios!
I can confirm that your drawing is correct except that you added 4 resistors of 0,18 ohms (not existing in my schematic) of which two are correctly positioned in sources of upper units, but two lower ones are in drains ?! They won't be of much use there. Visual analogy to complementary configured output stages is not enough to provide functionality and right purpose.

Regarding all that "fuss" you mentioned, I decided from the first moment not to comment anything. My friendly extended hand and help I gave from my heart from the first contact, were "turned" upside down, many things were misinterpreted and published that way, my design abused without even minuscule intention to ask for my permission (at least!)....... Hence, I don't see a point of any further involvement in any way!

well bora ......

in this case ...and given the opertunity i would like to apologize for saying ((that you gave up on me )) cause i didnt know that you where in a health contition ......

yes this my mistake and i apologize but i didnt know ...never ment to mean bad to you in any way .....

also given the opertunity i dlike to say that with the help of all the wonderfull people of the forum legend 4 and 8 is getting very close to work in rails above 60 volts also .......mainly not only producing a lot of poweronly , but also keeping all these wonderfull sonics the certain sweetnes in high but also ( most importsnd for me ) to be able to stand avery good ammount of abuse while running in small pa application which was my original target...

see dr Bora i could just as well turn to any other cirquit that meet my standards but the thing is that i liked the circuit very much i like the way it was given to me i like the way its made i like you actually ....so the thing was, that if me or you missed in the way that my rails were curently 62+62 volts .....just never mind ....with a touch here and a touch there ..... we are getting very close to solid results

best regards and thank you again anyway

sakis

Dr. Jagodic, as Sakis Petropoulos says there is no problem with our original design if the supply does not exceeds +/- 45Vdc. But Sakis wish to use it in P.A. applications thus the supply must exceed +/- 65Vdc to take an output of 200Wrms. And the problem is there, because the instability caused. Our original design with so high supply presents a d.c. offset of -200mV and during operation the swing of output goes more negative. Also the Mosfets are very sensitive in accidental pluggins or unplaggins in the amplifier's input. I don't have experiene with mosfets and quasi complementary outputs, but mr. Nelson Pass suggested to remove the diode so the output goes more positive. Also, according to your suggestion i removed the source resistors in their correct place (as mr. Pass said to me, these resistors are indispensable for the proper sharing of current). To resolve the dc offset i proposed the VR1 between the emitters of difference amplifier transistors. Also mr. Pass propossed the 2 zeners in this place shown in draw exactly to protect the gates from unwanted spikes. And for a more symmetrical output swing, according to an app. note of RCA i added a driver 2N5551 in the upper pair of mosfets. But i am not in possesion to confirm that this circuit works. Can you please throw a glance in the modified circuit quoted bellow to make your comments or your suggestions before its posting in the thread "Mosfet protection diodes"?

Hello Fotios!
Knowing that you and your companion already got some of the biggest names in audio world (Bob Cordell, One and only-Nelson) to help you, it will certainly looks very immodest from me to say anything more. Like everyone else, you people are free to play and modify any schematic for your personal enjoyment and exercise, but that what you can not is to make 30 amplifiers without at least asking designer for permission, regardless of fact what are they intended for! It is clearly stated on my site that I am giving Blanco permission to anyone to build any of my designs freely but for personal use!
I’ve been asked for small, simple, cheap 120-150W amp for personal use, and that is what I provided. For anything further I really don’t have time and will in this particular case!
Any further modifications are of course possible, but then everyone would normally expect that such courage to modify one design should be supported with sufficient knowledge and experience.

So...this is continuing....now you are cooperating with Bora?

Try to imagine if you have an schematic....you offer to public use..someone ask your help...you give the help you could...and then you turn sick.

People feel abandoned and told that was abandoned (already apologize).

Now someone publish a re-arranged schematic you made..something you have tested and worked....now people re arrange for better.

Of course Bora not happy...if you intend to cooperate with Bora, you could send it to him directly...not to post to International forum...published to mankind.

This seems to be a deliberated persecution, something very bad in my point of view.

This insistence to cause some damage to Bora image is something i cannot understand...as this is a payment to Bora's attention with a knife in his back.

I do not know how things runs in Greece...but here, down in South America...we...not developed people, we know how to react against those things.

If the idea was cooperation why to post?....are you cooperating with your own intentions...not with Bora.

Every amplifier is tweakable....this is not showing you as clever....as those obvious things are already into Universal knowledge.... what is not Universal is that bad behavior to persecute someone had helped Mr. Sakis.

Yes....you will tell that i misunderstood...that this is a cooperation...hehe....people are not idiot.

Also, remember that you represent your country here...the country image is something that is in your hands.

regards,

Carlos
