PS the “damping factor” adjustment actually cleared up the sound. Anybody familiar with what that does? Wow. Jagger’s in the room.
Wow, wow. Can hear Billy Gibbons’ fret work distinctly on “La Grange”.
Neighbors are definitely gonna talk...

Dunno what happened, but now all non-phono functions work (tuner, tape, Aux1 & Aux2). Huh. Reformed caps? Warmed resistors?
It appears that I got a microphonic 12ax7 in there. Not surprising since they were marked HAMMOND, which means they cam out of a defunct organ amp from FleaBay more than a decade ago...This thing is a veritable Tour of All Things Thermionic...
Power Supply caps seem to be reformed pretty well; the music keeps playing for about a minute after power is removed. Remarkable.
I don't think that american school PA is a sought after product in asia, but I could be wrong.
They are after the prestigous brands, all WE, all Altec/Lansing and the other famous names like Klangfilm. Thats what they want, thats what they are willing to pay premium pricing for. Its all about the famous brand name on the faceplate with asians. Good luck!

"Big Bucks"
Well, we aren't going to ship outside domestic USA, so that will hurt.
Plus, as you point-out, this ain't no McIntosh.
OTOH, in my mind Big Bucks for this would be anything over say $200.
If it doesn't sell for "big bucks", I have shelf-room in the Mono system, I have plenty of nice fresh 6AV5GAs, and I can see doing a very gradual below-chassis restoration.
The fact that I don't need the (very ornate & complicated) phono section makes a partial restoration easier to contemplate. Say, P/S and signal caps, plus in resistors that are way out of spec and/or "sweating" their guts out.
We'll see what Mister Market says...

I would use conservative approach to restoration. If a resistor is within 20% of nominal, leave it in. If a capacitor does not leak more than 2 UA at 400 V, leave it in. If electrolyte can be reformed and has 70% nominal capacitance, leave it in. In many cases parts can be checked without removing from circuit.
Yup, agreed. Particularly the cardboard-cased PS caps, which are frustrating to replace like-for-like anymore (although I see lots of clever ways to fake it, using modern guts...).
I just got a nice LCR meter, so that will help.
If the PS caps are tolerable ( and they appear to be, at least from the Sonics), I’m mostly concerned about the bias resistors and the coupling caps...
