It will be very helpfull for the whole world (those who interested in audio electronics) if you write a book.
Not all people is as gifted as you do. Maybe in even 3 lifetime they won't achieve what you know today.
What a precious waste if you bury the result of 40 maybe 50 years of "knowledge searching" of yours, moreover it is based on passion coming from your heart, for nobodyelse to know.

You've got something that makes you different than other people.

But back again, what you know, what you have is all yours. You can do whatever you want with your belongings. Nobody can force you what to do.

"On his 80th birthday, Brett Weston fed sixty years worth of his negatives into the large fireplace in his home on the Big Island of Hawai'i. Some of the negatives didn't burn immediately. So Weston doused them with kerosene. Yes, he was something of a pyro. Over the course of that evening in 1991, flames consumed the raw material of one of the greatest photographic legacies in the history of the medium."

Thus begins an interesting article about the life and work of Brett Weston. And there is quite an ironic ending to the story of the burning negatives."

Some of his friends that were there mentioned that he did not believe that anyone other than himself should print his negatives. Others also say he did not want the collectors to make huge profits because he passed away.

The critics were outraged that he destroyed what could have been shared and inspired future generations.

l do believe in the end its your call...

So you know what Dimitri did. Why would he bother at all to re-write down 156 pages of YOUR words? Is he got nothing else to do?

I don't even know how I am going to pay my rent 3 months from now.
I'm living in Bandung. It is on Indonesia. You know where Indonesia is? Bandung is not even the capital of Indonesia. You know how movies pictures countries like India, Indonesia, Malaysia? Very primitive picture, I'm afraid (Hollywood likes to drastic their scenes 😀).
But I can work something from audio, earning money. I have a family with 2 children. All live from audio. I'm not as gifted as you do, but I can work something out.
You, well you live in USA. I never see a single CES. You have meet people. You are famous. You got more chances than I do.

I'm sure there's something could be done with your knowledge to overcome your problem.

The quickest way is to make audio kits. But you don't want to do this.

Well, fellow members....Do you have suggestion for JC's problem? More heads will likely gives more ideas....

I've got one idea. DIYAudio here is a large community, it is worldwide scope.
If DIYAudio can gather some of it members who is interested in JC's book, we can gather money (like pay in advance) to finance the birth of this book, for JC to secure his short term problems.
Something like groupbuys. Maybe the book could be published under DIYaudio brand (What? DIYaudio publishing books? That's cool 😀) and distributed worldwide. I'm sure some of members here are familiar with books distribution.

Any other suggestions?

In business, established names are sold for enormous amounts of money.
Wouldn't someone be interested in starting a company called - for example - John Curl Designs - use designs from John and get paid a minumum monthly amout and part of the profits when it gets going ?
They John does not have to do anything else except look after the design input which could be new or reworked old ones .
Confirm the designs are up to his standards before manufacturing them.

I find it hard to believe that no one would be interested in something like this. Is there ?

It's great being able to collect advance money for a book and to solve current expenses. How about later on ? And how many books can we sell ?
Shouldn't this book writing venture be arranged with a regular publisher ? It will make better monetary sense.
Selling the "name" should generate much more money . It will generate a continuous stream of income.
Cheers,
Ashok.

I'm working on my problems. I don't wish or need to depend on you folks. Kits are out, because they demean my efforts. I already have lots of low cost designs out there, and someday I hope to collect my royalties on them, just like I have in the past. Parasound and I are still on good terms, it is just that things are slow at the moment. I hope to make new products in future, BUT I can't write a book as well! Thank you for your concern, but what I really want is a little less criticism for holding back on some of my design ideas, as I cannot afford to give them away. Have fun with what you have. It is enough to get you very far in audio quality.

Jan,
the text was not changed and modified and there was not a single word in there from other contributors: you, PMA or anybody else. Sorry that I’m hurting your self-esteem, and that I didn’t add your own opinions in the compilation, but this noise was of no interest for me. I believe that JC replies were all-sufficient, and the whole compilation was devoted to JC thoughts and only his. Thus I reject vigorously your unfounded accusation in hijacking.

Dimitri,

As you apparently still don't understand the issue, please ask your own administrator Pedja about it; he seemed to be VERY clear about it.

When I asked him, after your stunt, to delete my posts at DIYHIFI to avoid a re-occurence of such a hi-jack, he said that he couldn't do that, because (and I quote him verbatim):

"Accepting such requests we will ruin existing discussions and they usually belong to many other members."

I thought it was incredible to read that from an outfit that had just done that to 150+ pages of discussions.
