Ok let's do it always withOne point of clarification - For electronics you need rosin-core solder.
For what it's worth, the RS silver-bearing solder is my absolute favorite for stuffing circuit boards.
All my amps are and always have been glued together with this stuff. I've used it for decades. Well, at least 2 anyway! lol!

I won't give that shelf room.Lead free ?
I certainly would not buy it for electrical work.
If I read the data correctly looks like it says Sn 96.5%, Ag 0.3% Cu 0.5%
But does not specify the remaining 2.7%. Or does the missing 2.7% mean that all the data is very approximate !!!!!
I don't have my solders data to hand, so can't confirm temperature, nor if it's a eutectic.
Andrew, please don't leave us hanging. Did your landlady give you a demonstration of proper soldering from which we all can learn?

It's 2.7% lead; only the label is lead free...
Lead free ?
I have a pound of that solder. What is the ideal iron temperature for PCB stuffing?
Thanks.
BTW, she was married and HE was big man, ex rugby player and still a friend.
Plenty of those in these parts!
I believe that the remaining assembly plant in Galashields has had the chop. One of the best gillies in Kelso was a QA inspector at a Kelso plant.........he laughs at my soldering!
I am like many sunday diyers now i must change to higher quality of solder station.
Weller or Hakko brand with temperature regulation. Please gentlemans what be appriopriate confortable power for most audio assemblings?
Your fetish solder station?
Current discussion in the equipment section....

I prefer 350 degrees C for semiconductors and 380 degrees C for resistors and capacitors. I know some will cringe but I prefer hot and fast to cold and slow.
Thanks i try this on pcb's
What your internal wire connection psu, audio for Mr Pass diy amps?
I am in preparation for F4, F5 and AlephJ soldering

I'm with you on that. I cringe not. Keep it hot, quick nice solders.

There are many choices, I ended up with 2 different Hakkos, A 936, and a 929.
Both have worked very reliably and I have no complaints. For my hobby purposes only uses, this is plenty.
