Speaker and Speaker Kits, special offers
The Samara kit seems to be interesting. In fact, I bought it on a whim, despite I haven't finished the current build😛
Samara kit at 82dB sensitivity is far too low.
Hmmm...
Well, I'd be inclined to go with the Faital 4FE32 or 4FE35, both have a 4ohm version. Not much deep bass involved, but either of those should behave fairly decent and have good output.

Thanks, I hadn't run across those while shopping around. Looks like they meet or exceed all the realistic expectations in user reviews.
I'm interested in a 4-ohm 4" full-range with a 0.05ft³ box and powered by a PAM8302 amp (2.5W).
A 4” in a 1.4 litre box. Not gonna happen.
Perhaps you got an extra zero in there, if so 14 litres.
4 ohm 4” FRs are somewhat scarce on the ground. I haven’t heard the 4FE, the 3 is good (2.5 litre box).
The drivers i have experience with like 9-13 litres.
I have some CHP-70.2eN. 9 litres. And EL70eN and CHP-70eN in boxes.

Thanks, Dave. I measured it again and got 1.68l³.
This was supposed to be just a little 5V portable speaker to play while working or out in the yard. The 3" speaker I had handy and put in there was okay at low volume, but when turned up enough so I could be more than a meter from it, it was just too shrill to tolerate. The only thing I've bought so far is the little class-d board; I'm not sure how much more dollars and time I'm willing to put into it.

Alpair 5.2/3 or CHN-50 might be workable in that volume. It is never going to rock the house but at. am you should get relatively decent levels.

Yeah, well, it's a volume that is a bit small, but at worst you're looking at a "party bump" before roll off. Not optimal, but not exactly a huge issue either. The Faital drivers take a bit more abuse, the MA drivers may give more balanced sound but the bass SPL will not increase. If you have any means of EQ the Faital drivers will be superior, either way they will give significantly more output.
+1 for the Jordan eikonas, I really like mine, very impressive in the right enclosure. To me they sound very clean and neutral.
If they're at least as good as the JX92S, then +1 for me also.
Has anyone listened to Alpair 5.3 and can share their views?
Does it sound good?
Details and 3d capacity?

I am currently listening to the A5.2eN (except for the VC, the same driver, a marketing thing TMM). I like it a lot. Imagining.soundstage is something it does very well.

Smallest vrs largest of the monoSuspension range. The A5.3 really a third generation of the driver, the larger ones in their early generations.
So very similar, largely the kinds of differences one would expect given the differences in cone size.

Which to choose depends on the application. Given i am at the point where a WAW is my choice, if complexity and cost do not get in the way, i would choose the smaller driver. And given the A7ms can go at least as low as A11ms i would chose it before the 11.

I have orded a pair of Alpair 11MS.
I didn't like the Alpair 12P.
I hope 11MS will do what I want.
