Psychological memory is an exclusive property of human consciousness, without it mental representation and making categorical judgments would not be possible. Making judgments requires the presence of an antecedent condition to be compared to an object of intellect. A poor ability to make subjective evaluations in conjunction with a poor systematic ability to reproduce nuances puts you in the favorable position to opt for the cheapest and the most efficient solutions.
Logic cannot treat qualities. Qualities are not analyzable.
Can you prove that? With a scientific article? You can't clear the smoke with more smoke.
10000 years ago, no scientific article proved anything about any real thing. Can you prove that? With a scientific article? You can't clear the smoke with more smoke.
Fortunately, it did not stop humans with intuition...
I think the ancient Persians would disagree with you but never mind I am running out of popcorn keep it going .
Are you the one handling the camera ? 😀..
I worked as the sound recordist. In the "Leo" shoot (that's actually Jackie) the sound guy is closer and has no camera to hide behind.
I always assumed this image was trick photography. After all, the setup is wrong. The camera is MUCH too close. The talent will complain "you made my nose look huge!". Also the camera shade blocks half the face. And you don't need the microphone THAT close to an adult roar.
Simple: Shoot the lion, mark the viewfinder, take him out to lunch, bring in the technicians, shoot them, and futz it in the darkroom. Don't worry about technical mistakes.
However I found another image where the soundman is leaning back (you see more knobs) and the lion is looking at the cameraman. So there are two images of what seems the same scene. So maybe the guys really are in with the lion.
There's other maybes. Maybe the "crew" is really the lion's feeding staff, and he won't eat them until he sees today's menu. Maybe there is an ultra short black chain. Maybe the lion smoked a rope and can barely stand (or roar).
Still, I would not want to be that soundguy; yet I know the feeling.
MGM Lion appears with many stars of the day but mostly in obvious cuts. Laurel & Hardy run into a garage, back-shot shows lion in the street... probably another day and maybe another set. There is Alfred Hitchcock taking tea with the lion, and the trick is not obvious. An actress who I forget. Lion had his own plane and it crashed in the desert. Yes the most recent MGM lion, Leo, seems a very mellow fellow, but Hitchcock would be a nice snack.

It's always funny to read posts from people who never done a proper listening test with components but ranting because of theoretical ideas. No arguments but personal attacks most of the time. This reminds of Nazi ideology: If you can't understand it, burn it! Total utterly ignorance and only believing measurements - yes the measurement equipment that is too stupid to know if a mid driver in a 3-way speaker is metal or paper whereas the village idiot could tell you in seconds after blind listening...

But hey, measurements underlining the listening tests, all cosmic harmony...

Must confess I could not suceed to sleep last night at reading the thread, I was sweating, hesitated to choose drinking a glass of milk vs a glass of wine and finaly criying with a glass of water, thinking that the man who invented the wheel never see a Formula one race.... It's a cruel world !
Bad security certificate so neither FF nor my security apps would connect --and no its not because its HTTP as I get the option in that case.

I really am enjoying this "discussion " it reminds me of the 1980,s in EW when D.Self was putting forth his points of view ---forcefully .
Fur was flying -virtual punches were thrown -offense was greatly taken as were sides .
OTOH - the Editor saw a large increase in sales and the letter page on this subject went on for------ages ---and ages .
The comment here on --"what is truth " is re-cycled from a comment by Pilate to Jesus but now used extensively by politicians everywhere when asked simple questions that put them at a disadvantage.
A very entertaining thread indeed.
Too bad the "science" gang is currently playing low key; they used to be much more caustic over at the CTC/Black Hole thread.

I agree guys, as long it stays casual and not too much serious, it can be discussed !
Oh I imagine the op, Mister Nelson Pass eating popcorns at watching at it... Are there Elna's caps in his amps ?
This is a Papa Pilate viral thread ! Wasch your hands... with spoon !

Is anyone knowing Jamicon ? You should...
I had a Musical Fidelity X-Can V3 full of those, and it sounded terrible.
I replaced all of them with mostly Silmic II's and a Muse for the FB, but I can't say that helped: still blurry and grainy.
I guess the design is hopeless to start with.

You are wrong, the Nazi hierarchs knew perfectly well books that they had to burn, they understood them, but they were not suitable for their unhealthy purposes. In reality they were the useful idiots of the Krupp and Cia steel empire.

You were a good connoisseur of montages and "tricks" from what I see. They look very convincing. Good photographs, I liked the related anecdotes.
Here a few days ago a "super safe" helicopter rushed into the river. The pilot and copilot knew the place and knew of the existence of a cable for " Tirolesa " practices.
It was after a good lunch accompanied by a good wine. It seems that they did not know that the recommendation "Do not drive if you have drunk alcohol", includes helicopters. Or maybe they knew her but were emboldened and wanted to go under the cableway.
( I sorry OT)
