Well, I meant the glass coffeetable between the couch/seat and the speakers.. 🙂all the amps and electronic are not direct on glass but on sobothane feets ..
it 's a marriage present 😏Well, I meant the glass coffeetable between the couch/seat and the speakers.. 🙂
Anything known about the D.A.S Audio ND10?

The horn has strong directivity at high frequencies, a carpet only dampens high frequencies. You only make the room duller.Veryvery nice setup! Do I recognize Hashimoto trannies? There is one thing you can do: remove the glass coffeetable for serious listening and maybe put a carpet on the floor before the speakers. If there is a spouse involved, forget it 😉
When the glass table is very stable it is not worse as other material. But yes, you get a very early reflection from such a table. On the other side - you HAVE to put your drinks somewhere ... 🤓
It may damp so called "flutter echo" between floor and ceiling. This kind of echo gives an unpleasant effect so avoiding it is a good idea. Trying is knowing, maybe duller is better.a carpet only dampens high frequencies. You only make the room duller.
at 55 years old i prefer a clear room than a damped one , but these directive horns sound smooth not nasty , my real problem is the 35HZ room respons difficult to damp even with Dsp correction and a Bass trap in the room . i know that a two way is a compromise even if it mesure flat to 18khz at the listening position there is less « air » than with a dedicated tweeter. i still have the Faital HF 108 i will try to put it somewhere to see if i can change the 8\10K to 20K perception. 🙂
Sure looks like it might be 🙂Can it be that these D.A.S drivers have similarities to JBL 245x? Like ND-8 to JBL 2450?

No experience with them , sorry.Anything known about the D.A.S Audio ND10?

But yes they are made upon copying JBL design.
And a copy of the phase plug, as they're litterature reveals.
Beyond that can't tell you much.
For the fun , return of the Faital hf108 crossed at 8k in 3 way .. and unfortunatly it is better 😏
Nice midwoofer. As good as it gets.Very nice setup, are you happy with the HF? Seems you are bi-amping, if yes, how are you doing your XO, active or DSP?
I friend wants to build a HE 2/3-way and we have been thinking of mating the RCFs in the 1.4" version (or the SBA 65CDN-T) @ ~700Hz to a Precision Devices PD.152.002 (some other interesting options from PD too, like the PD153ER):
PD.152.002
Fs 38 Hz
Re 5.6 Ω
Qms 4.03
Qes 0.265
Qts 0.249
Le (@ 1 kHz) 1.28 mH
Vas 263 Litres
Mms 67.14 g
Sd 853 cm2
Cms 254.40 μm/N
BL 18.90 T/m
Xmax 6.75 mm
Seems to be, but I have not heard it yet.Nice midwoofer. As good as it gets.
The response falls pretty soon on the low end, but a relative high output impedance from the SE tube amplifier helps (I am simulating with an Rg of 2-3 Ohm).
We are not looking for more that 80hz (there are distributed subs for the lowest octave) so even a a very small box simulates well. If used with a SS amp or if used without a LF complement it would be more difficult to get an acceptable response.
Never fixate on the low end in spec sheets. Look at the Fs, Qts and VAS to get an idea of the actual extension in an optimized system.
It's neatly stated in the fine print, by the way: "Please note that frequency response measurements are supplied for comparison purposes only and are not a measure of the low frequency performance which may be achievable in a fully optimized system."
Some quick sims reveal that this driver is indeed suitable for 2-way use in a BR cab and as low mid in sealed cab.

I am simulating in VituixCAD with the published parameters, and yes, BR would do it.
I failed to mention I have only been interested in closed boxes because of the existing subs for the last octave. My comments about the FR should be restricted to a closed box use and thanks for making it clear for others who might want to use this driver.

Yes be rid of that bass reflex port and all that snorting like a rhinoceros. Also the distortion caused by near X-Max cone displacement.
I much prefer a sealed woofer and PR sub-woofer. Keep the long excursions out the woofer and midrange drivers, minimize IMD.

DualTriode, How loud are you playing? I use 93db woofer tune to 30hz and have none of that at very loud levels. I mostly play 90db or so.
Fine as far as your preference.....Yes be rid of that bass reflex port and all that snorting like a rhinoceros. Also the distortion caused by near X-Max cone displacement.

But it truly pains me to read such about bass reflex....
Sounds generic, elitist, never heard bass reflex done right,...and most likely subs/woofers being used to reach up too high

Sorry for the bad news.
Truth be told, every Kippel measurement and review of a 2-way stand or shelf speaker will always show Bass Reflex ports snorting and leaking out of phase mid-range.
The first response is always denial, next anger.
Thanks DT
