Let's return to the amp tests:

The amp with the first channel on test.... ALIVE!!! IT'S ALIVE!!!!! and it sings
The inside wiring is still a mess, but I'll tidy it up when all is finished.
That done, on to the second amp board building

With a fine glass of Burgundy Givry (Michel Salomon "Clos la Putin" 2006 ) 😀

Not much pictures as it as been extensively covered with the first board.

Second board on test bench, with two meters measuring temps
I'll make a special post with photos of the test process Bob Ellis and Zen Mod advises (R40-39, V- to -G and DC offset voltages, Sink and fets temp....)

TADA!!! amp roaring!!, less than 1°C difference between right and left sink.
I'll have to make quite extensive tests, but right now it sounds superb.
The first thing I'll try is to remove the schaffner filter for a conventional IEC inlet as I think my mains are not that dirty and I shall regain dynamics.
Next, putting NTC on primaries for a softstart, finding 12V or less to light the switch led (maybe from the PSU board or from my fan controller), installing the XLR/RCA switch, linking the speaker protection boards and tidying the insides.
I'm already thinking of the next step.......building a good preamp 😎 <-- You're not going to get rid of me right now 😀

YOU'RE SO MEAN ZEN!!!😀 my poor little Davis...... they are not so bad really.........well maybe some horn cabinet fostex....arghh NO!, not now, my wife's gonna kill me 🙄!!
Nice.
The 'linished' finish is as you say not too good. Rather than attempt to make it better, take the front panel to a metal finish shop and ask them to 'acid etch' the front and edges. That will give the frosted look you say you would like.
Good luck.

when you finish your amp - take it to someone having decent at least 12" cones
as much I like FR and horns , I'm spoiled with big cones in last few years
so - try it , maybe you'll like them ,maybe not
for some inspiration ( for try-outs , not Mana from Heaven) - take a look in my blog , spks category

Just from an ahestitc point of view, those speakers are beautiful, I really like the (medium?) tweeter module and the finish of the main cabinet with it's rounded angles and high feets.....and what a driver here 😱

what I'm implying is - there is a difference when proper main driver is liberated of bass duty ;

Very nicely done and great pictures too! Thanks for posting all this up. I know sometimes it's hard to tell if folks are interested but believe me they are! Cheers

Thanks a lot.
I'll be happy if all of this is useful to even one person, and again, I'm the one to be grateful for all the support and advises I received here, without all of you, this probably shouldn't have been possible.
DIYaudio is really a great community with lots of friendly and skilled people, I'm glad I came here🙂
That said, I ain't totally finished the amp, more pictures and comments to come 😀
