Everything you said is obviously true until you get to France aiding Scotland in their war for independence. I am not saying they won't but I am not at all convinced that they would. Do you really think they would do that?
I don't really know about the French and Germans being in cahoots but it is possible I guess. Together, they designed and put into production a late 4th generation fighter aircraft so I guess that is being in cahoots.
This is the first I have heard of the French suspecting that the Germans are mainly from Poland. Are you sure about that?

Look at a map, and see that France has a bad strategical position. They have always feared an English invasion (and most of France was owned by English for quite some time). And just go back a few decades, look at what we did to them and imagine some selfserving politicians frightening voters by showing them East and West Germany are united again.
In *this* part of Texas, German is quite common. Many of the towns here were founded (and still dominated by) Bohemians. So we have oddities like the Lone Star Kolaches chain, Tex-Czech music, and towns with names like Boerne, New Braunfels, and Gruene (where there's one of the best medium-sized music venues I've ever been to).
Oh yes, and EXCELLENT beer.

SY, some of the old receipes brought to your country and adapted to the ingredients available there...gimmegimmegimme.
Well, and as to Czech (Bohemian) beer - yes. A very big yes.

There are more Americans of German decent than from any other. Most people think it is British but there are more Germans here.
Yes I realize what you did to them. I think in WW1 you guys did something to their souls or something. They should have been able to kick your butts in WW2 but they were still messed up from WW1 I think. They had you outgunned in every way including Tanks usually about 2 to 1 in their favor. At that time (1940) their tanks were better than yours at that time were. There is just no reason they should have collapsed so fast except that you guys messed them up in WW1 I guess. It is just a theory but it is the only one I can think of. Even if they had lost it should have been a lot harder and taken a lot longer than it did. But I don't think any less of them for it. As an American I do not personally know what it is like to have another county invade my country and hold parts of it for 4 years and kill a few million of my countrymen so I don't know that it wouldn't do the same thing to us. It seems to me like it would make us just the opposite but I can't say for sure because it hasn't happened.

Mate, I know about there being a lot more decent American families originally having a German background than modern history scribblers want the public to know.
As to being invaded - it´s not nice, and be happy that America is not very likely to be. My mother had to get her 12yo behind out of a town in Germany that Russia gave to Poland. Fine with me - Mom and Dad wouldn´t have met otherwise.

Two of my favourite beers are czech/bohemian: Budweiser (the real one made in Budweis/Budovice not the genuine one made somewhere across the pond) and Pilsner Urquell. They still grow the worlds best hops down there.

I'm out of beer and too lazy to venture out in the minus 10 weather to get more. So it's vodka on the rocks.............
Pilsner Urquell.
Always welcome in this house. Used to be my favourite till about 15 years ago when the local "cottage" (read micro) breweries grabbed my attention. Still a brew I get for my birthday and special occasions as I used to sing it's praises so loud the echo still abounds. Now I don't have a favourite as there are soooo many to choose from. Many braumeisters now call BC their home. and that's a real treat.
Funny how the original Pilsner (from Pilzen) has different tastes and alcohol % depending on where you buy it.

Speaking of brews, what about your brother by another Mother?
😀

RIP RINGNESS
The only beer worth drinking was bought up by Carlsburg breweries a number of years ago and then "discontinued" Hopefully they have reaped full benefit from their actions. The best that should happen to them is unmentionable on this or any other civilized forum.

Bud,
After Rainer Brewery closed down, they were the only game in town and now they're gone as well. Lone Star anyone?
"It's not bad, but it should have been run through the horse one more time!"
😀

Now owned by South African Breweries, Pilsner Urquell is produced in Pilsen (Plzen), but also in Poland and somewhere else in Europe. Still tastes great, no matter where produced.
Best Pilsner Urquell I tasted was in the Pilsen cellars where they used to brew all production until some 30-40 years ago (not sure) when modern facilities have been built. The traditional technology in cellars is still operational and visitors can taste non-pasteured PU…

My last time in China, I was shocked at how good the local version of Tsing Tao tasted. Either they use a different recipe for the beer actually served in Tsing Tao, or it just doesn't travel well.

Now there's a fine homebrewer. Most just use cans of gooey syrup (as I did) but SCD starts with grain. He's my brewing hero. Fine fine product.

I don't know SY. Once they broke the purity law and started adding rice to the mix... That's kinda cheating isn't it? Or was it the distinctive water flavour they talk about?

How did it stack up to the 23 cent PBR? There was always a local brew some I prefered to the Tsing Tao. OTOH there was no drinkable Maotai.

That stuff is pure evil.
Haven't tried Tsing Tao in China except in Tsing Tao, where it IS the local brew- where did you have it?
Local Tsing Tao better be good!
After all the original equipment, know how and brewmaster were german.
There were reputations at stake…
