how does the final circuit of your 45 SE look like. Did you apply the ultrapath connection Thomas recommended or do you run the amo in fixed bias mode?

Wow, this is an old thread 🙂 Anyway, I'm running my 45 in fixed bias: 34mA/300V. The driver is a gyrator in mu-follower output cap coupled to the 45. The current valve I'm using is the 7193. It sounds great.
I'm actually thinking of how the 45 could perform in A2 and whether is worth adding the complexity to the amplifier to get out about 3W from it.
Here are some early thoughts on that:
