is there a need to say that platform feet doesn't need to be so high ?
inch or so is more than enough
but, if you like them that way -![]()
Can double as coffee table in cooler months this way

simplest way of decreasing voltage ( and you'll need it) is just put enough 1N400* in series - each eating almost 0V6
you can put them inside SMPS, or wherever - under the board
I use sillier method, computer fan is powered by plug in wall wart. I just bought several at different voltages....

That little stovetop coffee maker is certainly one of the greatest inventions of Wakootalians ...

Talking of babysitters.. I do not have much space between the shelves on the rack. I could, perhaps, make a short-legged babysitter (1-1.5 cm) and would end up with about 1 cm to the upper shelf from the top of the amp. Not ideal, in my understanding.
But I could nicely fit fans on the (now open) sides of the rack so that they are blowing to the heatsinks from both sides. Is it essential to blow the air from the bottom to make internals of the case cooler? The air-flow through the two-rows perforated bottom plate and the mounting plane inside the amp does not seem to be so strong anyway, no?
If I keep the heatsinks cooler by blowing from the sides, would the effect for internals of the amp (caps) be good enough to make it worth the game?
Thanks

yes, whichever way you decrease temperature of thermal system, it is good
I've just found that Enermax Aeolus series, if found cheaply ( possible) can be accomodated easily for this purpose
probably needing trick or two to ensure better support for amp, but suprisingly sturdy, all metal construction
have a pair (one "Pure", one "Premium"), SH for less than 10E, will post pic or two as soon I make necessary tweaks
easy peasy

yeah
I did tried it today and it'll be definitely easy tweak, allowing FW case directly on it and even Modushop 4U/400 with most spread out feet, as I'm doing it
tweak consisting of making two custom feet from MDF or whatever
when I said "directly", that means putting amp directly on Enermax, frame is that sturdy
again, I paid around 10E ( shipped) for pair of them so whatever it comes is good
Babysitter in wood with big silent Noctua is certainly more elegant but involving more work and tools to make it
NB That Enermax 25cm fan is somewhat noisier than I like, but I'll see final outcome ( needed flow and resulting noise) only when I'm done, in few days

pics of fast and crude implementation
was thinking of using MDF or 40mm Al square tube, but was lazy to search for them, first thing I stumbled on was particle board ..... so why not
shown with FW amp on it and Modu 4U/400
it works as I intended
pics are awful blur, who cares
tool needed - (accu) drill, hand jigsaw

it's more efficient way having it as shown on pics
entire idea with Enermax is - if you can find it cheap, it's good basis
if not, then invest your time to make whatever you want with who-knows-from-where sourced fan

I'm imagining a dedicated babysitting rack with adjustable manifold terminus baffles to accommodate different widths of greedy boy amps... Every shelf is an enermax of sorts. 🤔
Next we'll have high quiescent current fridges. If I don't care about class A consumption, why not have a glass case to see the goodies (green LEDs), but compressor cooled! I'll select a 13 degree wine from my vintner's fridge with my 27 degree amplifier of the evening from its fridge.
I'm only kidding about the fridges. This is more of a Pass Pub post. 😆 I think the babysitters ideas are all very cool. But the enermax needs a front plate equal-width with the amp, "OPLDF' etched in Tesla font.
Time to flip the record.
