B1 Kit PSU test issue: powered up and measured the 24.2v across series (pass) but only measured 4.2v across the "9.1v" tiny resistor (fail). Yeah, and my diode fails to light. Any ideas? I've stopped the build for now hoping maybe some of you can help. Reluctant to keep stuffing until I have addressed this concern - that's the point of testing, right!?
Hi Jsiz,
Could you post a picture of the board? I had a similar problem on Saturday which was solved by another pair of eyes looking at my pcb.

Pmat,
That's a nice finish, unfortunately they don't sell in the UK due to the high level of VOC. I shall have to keep looking. I'm new to working with wood so I haven't had much experience with wood finishs. This week's experiment is trying some Danish Oil on an oak faceplate for my upgraded Starving Student.

Jsiz - As previously mentioned, please post some photos. 🙂
As for the LED, is it in the proper way? they are polarized... The log leg is on top. The flat of the LED plastic is on the bottom. Look at step 15 and step 18.

Nice work mnkosch.
It did seem a shame when I put the lid on my case to hide that lovely glow.

Here are the extra blanks that I didn’t use so far. If anybody’s interested in them I guess I could work out a price plus shipping. I have milled about half of them with the correct holes and cutouts for this project. It fits the kit chassis. I can make other sizes as well. I just thought I would check for interest here at the forum.

They are very Nice Front Panels,
I have one like this on another Pre I imported from the USA, and it does stand out.

Pmat, those are indeed very beautiful. Imagine that nice wood front on mnkosch's cool clear case! Wow!

Thanks for your replies and patience. Able to get photos today and the development is that now the small resistor appears DOA vs 4.25V on Sunday. I believe I did install the diode in correct polarity. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!
