I've done some more work over the Easter holidays, finally finished the new bearing carrier,i ditched the aluminium one in favour of a brass one.Pretty happy with the way it came out in the end and hopefully there will be an improvement over the standard nylon carrier. I can now move on to putting the arm back together now.

Thought I'd post this for you Jamie for some inspiration. It's a PMAT AT1010. This is not my TA it belongs to a friend. The OEM mount had the arm sitting slightly too high on his TT so I made a new arm board with a split collet and collar that attaches to the arm post.

The screw through the arm board is used to adjust arm height and can be done on the fly. The last pic is mounted on my SP10.

@warrjon ,i have machined bearing carriers now in brass and aluminium, looking at the tonearm it would appear all but the arm tube is brass thats been nikel plated. do you think brass is the better choice for the carrier ?
nearly time to put it back together!

Love the craftsmanship and progress.

No experience with this arm, but I’ve done some fabrication to modify an old Stax arm to mount on my reworked VPI HW19.

I wish I had the equipment and skills you do.

Unfortunately, I’m working pretty much self taught on an old Logan lathe and bench top Grizzly mini mill or with hand tools.

I’m hoping at one point to modify an old AS212 into a 12” arm.

Also have aspirations to build a DIY Schroder arm.

IMO I don't think it'll make a huge difference the bearing carrier being either brass or aluminium. If it were me I would replace the brass post with stainless or better still 4140 or 1045 shaft steel, this will increase post stiffness. My DIY pivoting arm uses a 38mm OD post made from 4140 and is incredibly rigid. I mentioned this because I sleeved the 16mm EPA-100 post with a 30mm bit of 4140, this made an audible improvement.

they are stock Audio Technica ones that i polished.
the trupoint ones have a carbide tip braised on but he's knackered the thread doing it/ i've bought a die to re do the thread so i'll give them a polish when it arrives.
thanks for the tip on the sleeve, its easy to implement on this arm.the week point is the bolt that the bearings run on. its 6mm and its drilled so the tonearm wires can pass through, id is 3mm,.
