Duke, good to hear you are ok. Pls stay that way !
BTW , what is the latest API version ?
Following this AP-USB thread since start, and using the USB adapter,
I can only recommend the USB adapters - they are great value, and a life saver for old AP.
I have AP sys2 (2322) , and S1, Both work truly great , to specs.
For me , USB runs great with Apwin2.24 and any WIN 32b OS, flawless from XP to WIN 7.32, including WIN 10.32.
Anyone higher out here ?
All the best, Michael

Hi Michael
The APIB USB ADAPTER works in Win 11, however the ICON’s don’t all work. The security inhibits them. All direct launched command work.
Some (clients using) Win 10 computers needed to be run in XP3 compatibility mode.

Duke, and others interested ,
As I recall an important thing to remember is the w7 - 10 32bit versions have a built-in a 32-16bit conversion ability (I forget the name, sorry ) that makes the old, admirably well designed Apwin 2.24 fully compatible, ( 100%, icons and all )
- as well as other legacy programs like my ancient 16B pcb layout.
Later 64b OS do not have this, and in my experience, will not work for Apwin2.24 .
I keep www-isolated PC´s for such use, and some similar backup machines, found abundant and free.
Too good to dump, As also AP S1 and S 2 , I intend to see how well they age, compared to my danish made B&K audio measurement gear, now crowding 60years, Still on specs and not so far behind the AP.
Still finding ways to use my AP´s to unravel the audio-electronics interaction.
Check out "Cyril Bateman on capacitor sound". Most thorough illuminating work ever done.
Now : where´s the button saying: "Clear , beautiful sound " at ?
Cheers, Michael

I also have a Win 10 system running 32 bit Win 10 that is working fine with AP S1 + PCI card(!) and a parallel port Picoscope. Thesewill not work in the 64 bit world. But they work great in the 32 bit system. There is no 32 bit Win 11 so this will be frozen in time. I will try to figure a way to have local net access but no external access to the machine. I also have an EMU 1616M working well in this system giving exceptional digital audio support.
1audio, that sounds like an interesting system -
Is Picoscope adding the FFT to S1 ? very desirable if possible ,
If so are they running along side in separate windows and even sharing data?
I only had the old AP dos IF cards and a PCMCIA to connect, But when AP cut the connection to newer OS, I opted for UDO´s brilliant usb solution. AP just left us early adopters out to dry.
A Frozen OS is in my experience no problem - it is suitable for an oldie like me . Most M$ OS updates seem harmless but beware - accept ´need to have´ only.
W7 is absolutely fine as is win8.1 and 10, just keep a backup system install handy, and keep the antivirus active if you do need to connect for other purposes. In my 64b machines I have installed a second OS boot 32B win7 or 8.1.
I am looking for an AP 1-2 user group sharing user experiences, help and ideas - does such a thing exist ? pls let me know .
