Asynchronous I2S FIFO project, an ultimate weapon to fight the jitter

Basic question but I can't figure it out...what's the polarity on j5 (3.3v) on fifopi? I'm trying to power from purepi and don't want to reverse polarity but it's not marked and I think the position is reversed from purepi.

Also...I'm supposed to connect fifopi ground to the earth on station pi....I guess I don't actually know where to connect it on fifopi...the (-) on j5?
Have you already consulted the manual?

Ok thank you, I didn't know to read that as indicating positioning. I tried to see it that way but with ground right in the middle I thought it wasn't that and comparing with the 5v side didn't clear it up for me. So I DO share the ground for station pi with the incoming 3.3v.

I think this happened to me too at one time. But since I went from a Q3 to a Q7, I was able to backtrack to the Q3 photos.

There's a PurePi (Not Familiar) photo too in the Q7 Manual. The Red and Black cabling looks correct, but it's good you are doing your due diligence. Better safe than sorry, then you have a little comfort in that the last buffer there is a fuse.

To add to everyone else chiming in... I've found labeling and coloring power connectors may save you some grief down the road, should you accidently reverse something. I do this because I'm more anal than most. 🙂

Hi SimonJ, I have Dac from

Hi SimonJ
I am trying to make a Raspberry5 streamer for my Iancanada DAC, I have Raspberry5 + 5" touch screen with Volumio OS, I don't know how to make song display on screen like yours, I ask if you give some information or how to make it display on screen like yours system, thank U so much
I am using the dedicated Rpi display with Roon and Ropieee FYI. This allows a very simple method to make the display as you can see

This is the guide to explain how 😉

Hello everyone! This thread is super interesting... thanks in advance for the help I'm looking for:

My configuration is the following: (Only using the Raspberry as a Streamer at the moment, USB output to the Gustard U18 DDC and from here to the Gustard X18 DAC)

I have tried Picoreplayer/LMS and now I am trying Volumio.

- Allo Shanti Dual (To power the Raspberry and fiber optic media converter up to the Gustard N18)

- #48B. PurePi II

- #23C ShieldPi Pro mk II

- #49B. MonitorPi Pro (I wanted the pure output mode ON/OFF if the music is playing or paused... apart from that it looks very cool)

- #19C Pi Pro II Receiver (Not suitable for my USB streamer setup)

When using the Raspberry as a USB streamer, the following happens to my surprise.. when the Monitor Pi pro is connected correctly (MUTE output J5 to J10 of PurePi II) and (DDC control cable from J6 to J13 of a ReceiverPi Pro II)

USB output, (Is there sound? = YES) Pi pro monitor (NOT shows music data) PurePi II (The pure D8 LED = OFF)

I2S DAC output, (There is sound = NO, normal but I had to try everything) Pi pro monitor (YES it shows music data) PurePi II (The pure D8 LED = ON/OFF if Play or not)

I bought the ReceptorPi Pro II, thinking that reading the manual would solve the problem.... hehehe I was obviously wrong in my choice.
If you do NOT connect the MonitorPi pro, the pure LED D8 = ON...

Is there a HAT from Ian Canada that allows me to use the USB output that connects to my Gustard DDC U18, so I can use my monitorPi pro and have it switch between the 3 output modes of the PurePi II? and at the same time the information about the music that is playing appears on the screen? Which HAT would it be please?

Thank you!
