Still there is people that claims lunar landing is a hoax and NASA faked it all. Just like flat earthers ...
A recent YouGov poll found that 16% of British people still cling to the conspiracy theory that the Moon landings were staged.
One in six Britons (16%) say the moon landing was ‘probably’ (12%) or definitely (4%) staged.
Interestingly, older respondents are considerably more likely to say that the statement "The Moon landing was staged" is definitely false than younger respondents.

So a permanent moon settlement will have to be shielded against lunar landings, no astronauts waiting to greet new arrivals either.
Precisely! If spacecraft are to land near a future lunar settlement some precautions are going to have to be made.
This could involve using natural lunar terrain as a shield, creating an artificial ridge or embankment or modifying the landing surface to prevent the dust problem altogether.

This statement is incoherent.

This nonesense is not why I opened this thread 🙄This statement is incoherent.

Well he started it!
er..System 7 and then he joined in! Honestly, ☺️ this is always all just fun for me, serious or not. Any thread I've ever started takes it's own course and I'm fine with that. We're having a conversation. You can't predict how/what someone's response to a statement is going to be. What would **** me off is if someone were to change the title of my thread. 🤨

😊 Ask Bart Sibrel.Buzz Aldrin would probably see the funny side.
So I take it you haven't understood a thing I've said with those "????" ? 😎Pretty well sums you up????
Okay, sometimes it takes a few reads. At my age I make no apologies..except to Tobydog. 🙂Interestingly, older respondents are considerably more likely to say that the statement "The Moon landing was staged" is definitely false than younger respondents.
Why? It's as clear as water what Galu said. Most probably the reason is that we old farts actually were moon landing witnesses, while younger ones know nothing else than movies or videos, especially those provided by the (un-)social media. This statement is incoherent.

Which proves there's a lot of dummies around... Not that we need proof of that...A recent YouGov poll found that 16% of British people still cling to the conspiracy theory that the Moon landings were staged.
Sadly, this is the second thread that has degenerated into a Fakebook-esque invasion of idiotic science deniers. I'm disappointed that we no longer can have intelligent discussions here without being trolled by drooling imbeciles. This was the last place on the Web I knew of that wasn't dominated by morons.
With the passing of respected members DF96, AndrewT, Scottjoplin and the like I was afraid that science deniers and imbeciles, as you say, might gain majority also in technical threads. Exactly this happened. What a pity. Umpzillions of fruitless, superfluous discussions on cables, capacitors, tube and opamp rolling etc... 🙄
Best regards!
Best regards!
"Photos? no CGI. Space travel is impossible because of Newton's 3rd law of motion, in a vacuum you have nothing to push against."
Someone actually posted this on youtube, along with a bunch of other nonsense. This is the mentality of at least 10-15% of Americans now.
"Pretend gravity "
"No one can measure gravity"
We are doomed.

The launch pad for Artemis is designed to be reusable, even after all the heat and flames. I saw recently that one item was destroyed by the launch, the elevators. The tower that the rocket launches from is pretty tall so elevators are handy. Apparently, the pressure from the launch blew off the doors of these elevators!
Yup - lets get back to Artemis...
It's now in it's retrograde orbit.. And sometime today will break the record for the furthest distance from earth for a human capable vehicle!
So far so good!
