Schiit Modius Dac.... one should be suspicious with such a name ! AK4493... hummmm, all the money went in the nice metal case and the symetric output to look pro !
Schiit went through some early growing pains, but it's all made in USA by well-known designers and still repairable (mostly). Only question is original Modius A (AK4493) or Modius E (latest model w ES9028).

Too much Marvel Comics for I ! Two good little chips, certainly the AKM is easier to get rigth at this price. Don't expect springfull bifrost rainbow sound at this price though. Do you need high resolution ?
Neutral is a myth, mainly from the loudspeakers. Even more with opa1612 everywhere cause neutral is equal to noise floor. By chance the device is still audible, and this is the part that interrest us.

There are 2 factor forms :

The pictures of the link exhibit not so good pcb layout. Pretty usual from Ali/Eba cheap chineese DACs...
Could be good you check it and perhaps redraw it if you spend some monney on good ECC88s... Let say you paid for the parts as good enough trade off ?!
Is there some interrest here for a 4 layers well layouted AD1862's DAC I made for my needs but as a kit ? NOS output, but w/o nasty highs, with sota op amp for I/V and with or not buffer stage, with real voicing work given in the BOM for the parts ?
And versatile pcb enough to put as I/V any op amp tipology : VFA, CFA, TIA (op861), as well as tube or plug in I/V third party discrete pcb output, without sacrifice the quality for high speed op amps with proper decoupling and signal paths without crossed currents ? Something like 30 euros the pcb with a BOM than took long time to make it rigth with many tries...

Just wanted to show you can do better for less... And most of the Ebay/Ali are sorta of DAC for compulsive buyers knowing few.
Do you ask the gerbers on Ali ? Are you able and aware enough to understand than AC you buy there are poor bad made copies copied from internet and sites like this one, where we post ?

I do not like people selling they own stuf as the best. As everybody here knows nobody can tell you what you must like.
And I believe that your 4 layer boards have no contribution to a better dac. Because the best dacs I heard comes from a era that 4 layers boards not were used in consumer products.
But please stay on topic with those excellent Chinese dacs, because they are out there.
