SY, any chance you could stick them in with your clothing? Mind you they xray all that stuff don't they.

To extrapolate further on that:
Anyone seen Bo Selecta? The Craig David sketch? Wee sack? 😀
Trying to sneak stuff through Security when one is a 150k mile per year flyer is a bad idea. One's name goes on the Flashlight and Rubber Gloves list.

He's not. I've seen it. Even had beer from it (in my usual quantity)

The amount of alcohol discussed in this thread ... everything at the DIY meet is going to sound wo-o-onderful.
Well, it looks like we have enough interest to make it worthwhile trying to get a discount from the hotel, so I'll chase that up on Monday. In the meantime, keep registering! 🙂
Vikash,
Might I suggest you add a link in your signature to http://www.vikash.info/audio/ukdiy2007/ so people can easily find it to sign up? It took me a bit of searching around to find it again (to see who else had signed up!)
Cheers,
Simon

I just noticed you've got a Tempest there Simon. Fancy bringing that along in your backpack? I fancy building one and have just the right amount of time to get it done I think. Looks like I'll be bringing a people carrier/van to bring all this up!
edit: err 260L
Isn't that the size of the standard british box room? 😀

lol. it only let's you delete after you've entered your credit card details. 😀
It's just there to let people ammend their entries, or delete duplicated. Still requires you to enter a matching email address so randoms can't go deleting anything...

Yes mate, I have a large sub, lol! It's not overly portable, but it is quite good. I'm really not sure what to bring to this thing now. Seems people are bringing great kit so I can't see the point of bringing only "quite good" gear. I think I'll continue to rub cheetah blood and snake oil on my cd player till it's the best in the world, then maybe it will be good enough.
Re. the Tempests, I notice you're selling the "classic" Tempest. That's probably the one I have. At some future point I might buy a 2nd and put them in smaller, sealed boxes, more of a 3-way than 2-way + sub. Old 3 ways with big bass drivers sound correct to my ears. I'd love to know what you do with yours.
Simon
If you're doing that Simon you're best looking at the pro drivers - I felt the tempest a bit lacking above 40Hz..(to my ears anyway..)
Can bring up a 200L sealed tempest box if someone wants to stick a driver in it - I'm hoping to have sold 2 of mine and have the other 2 installed in a vehicle.
Rob.

Thanks for the tip Rob. I had wondered about this myself. I'm currently using it from 45hz and down and it works well there.
I'll know better what I want after hearing some speakers at the meet, hopefully! 😀

Our very own Stuart Yaniger, (SY) will be doing a presentation in the lounge entitled "Objective Testing of Subjective Phenomena". He's not giving too much away so far, but knowing him, it should be very interesting. 😉
