Another EMI filter

Don't pull the ground. Pull the + signal only. Then if you still have noise its coming in on the ground.

If there is a ground loop, it will be through your USB cable, your audio cables, and back through the power amp AC line ground, through your house ground system, and back to the PC AC line ground. That's a BIG loop.
Ah pulling the signal only is harder I need to clip it. A minute

But the dac isn't working if the USB cable is disconnected. Its probably muted. And its not working if its powered off. So the dac must be at least part of the problem. Could be its the interaction of the dac with the PC. Only way to know is to swap PC and or swap dac and see what happens.

Also, since it doesn't happen with other power amps, the power amp appears to be part of the problem.

It might help greatly if you have a suitable oscilloscope. Do you see RF coming out of the dac analog outputs? If not, maybe the RF is very small and the amp is very sensitive to it?

I just made the Toslink work, no idea if the noise seems to be there...

I will just do another test.

However..... the sound.... just WOW , the difference for POP music is incredible,
I played some music through youtube and it sounded just horrible, I could not describe how bad it sounds now.

On the contrary the master I have is incredibly good, the sound is just deep and extended without any distortion. It sounds just great!!!

wow it sounds 1000x better than USB, and USB with a adum4166 (very advanced chip to isolate) was sounding just worse but with a lot of problems of low level noises, can't notice it unless you place your ear near the loudspeaker.

I bought an american made Toskink cable made with the best material for factories processes haha, incredible!

There is a way to do USB that is far, far better than TOSLINK. You haven't heard it all yet.

Most likely there was a lot of EMI/RFI noise on USB +5v power and ground coming from that computer. Getting the USB in the dac off of USB power, and then galvanically isolating clock and I2S signals on a clean side can be a big step forward. External clocks and reclocking can kick it up another couple notches. Most people have never heard what is possible to do, never heard how good a well recorded CD can actually sound. IME, people tend to rather surprised at that. Then they ask, "how much does it cost?" At that point their interest fades. Same if told a lot of SMD soldering is required in order to save some money as compared to a more or less similar sounding commercial product.

from computer,? please tell me? right now I am 99% pleased with this...

No one could recognize that this sound is coming from a emu0404 haha! I was reading around and it seams to be one of the best sounding chip of akm, now I just don't miss the TDA at all. I had an akm4397, It had a blacker background and soundstage but I was missing something, the akm4396 never disappoints. What it had in tendency to shout now is details and plenty of harmonics, it could even be airier and I would rejoice. It gives a decent illusion of the event, as soon as you listen it is music, audio system disappear totally

Mark, do you mean I can just plug a 4 pins and the spdif coaxial would sound better than optical?
