And what did we buy today?

Hi soundbrigade,
Swedish/Danish post - PostNord have a very bad reputation. That bad that the company often is nicknamed PostMord,
We have UPS (Oops!), Canpar (Can smash), Purolater (Percolator) and a couple that went out of business for poor performance. Fedex and Canada Post are probably the best two now, along with some others that aren't bad (I just can't remember them right now).

UPS is by far and away the worst courier I can think of.

I avoid UPS like the plague for international shipments, but must say they are doing a pretty decent job on all our packages from Costco. Haven't been to a Costco in person since social distancing started, what with how I detest line ups and my wife's-not-yet-clinical-hypochondria.

Bought 2 dusk-till-dawn coach lights for the front of the house, the petty theft is continually on the rise in Calgary.

Hi kodabmx,
Details on your amp? I have a customer looking for one. I finally got him to get out from under a Dynaco modified ST-70. He needs a decent amplifier. I'll put you two in direct contact.

PM me please, I can give you my number.

-Chris

Congratulation on the purchase Rob.

Cheers mate. At 67 I figured it was time to settle down. BTW it's actually a decommissioned Post Office, so it could be said that I've "gone postal." 🙂

More recent purchases: well the Oppo 103D was nice enough, but a 105D came up and we all know how much better their audio is, so I had to buy it. Then there was a 203 at a fantastic price, so ...

At this rate I'll have one in every room.

Already said congrats, and now we're all waiting for the pics of the new abode. Buck up mister.

Didn't want to be gazumped on the deal, but now that the contracts have exchanged ...

That is so cool like anatech says. Are you allowed to live in that building? Is that front patio easily accessed?
When are we allowed to visit?

It was the residence of the postmaster from 1893 until 2016 and currently has a tenant, so there's 127 years of precedent for people living there. The front patio is accessible via a door from each of the two front bedrooms. I'll be putting the excess rooms on AirBNB as soon as I have the place in shape, so probably the end of the year, but I've already indicated to many close friends that they're always welcome to drop in and stay a few days.

Here's a shot of the open area downstairs, which I plan to turn into an electronics workshop:
