And what did we buy today?

Denon POA-S10. Just the one for subwoofer duty. Hoping it survives shipping as I have no control over packaging and multiple courier hand-offs :-(
Plan is to use the Rod Elliot project-48a controller and feed to the Denon thence to a Monitor Audio Silver 12 which I picked up for a song as the crappy plate amp was dead.
However..the best laid schemes of mice and audiofools Gang aft agley,
Tomorrow will tell if I have a boat anchor or fun.

$2000 worth of light fixtures for the shop and the barn. Between 15 4’ LED strip lights, 14 LED-retrofit type strip lights (plus 2 cases of bulbs), six HID replacement high bays, two floods and two wall packs. Ordered at 9 this morning, shipped this afternoon. Should be here tomorrow or the next day - warehouse is only 100 miles away.

The 8 foot version of those strip lights that only does 5000k costs more than two 4’s that can do 3500, 4000 or 5000. Same brand. Go figure. I can put ‘em end to end and make 12 or 16 foot strips.
Btw, there are T8 and T12 4" LED bulbs. If you are replacing traditional fluorescents with magnetic starter, make sure you get the right bulbs (otherwise new starters are about $20 each).

BNC (male and female) to 2-wire connectors, looks ideal for testing.

Regards, Gerrit

The retrofit ones are T8, direct wire. Using those in storage locations that don’t need it at supernova brightness since they only do 1800 lumens each tube. It’s like running F32T8’s off a low power factor ballast (which don’t run at full wattage). The strips going in the work areas have a single-T12 form factor and run 5900 lumens, or the equivalent of two regular F32T8’s. Not only that but I can switch them down to 4000k instead of being stuck with 5000k. I’m used to working under 4100k. Six going in above the electronics work bench, and 8 in the wood shop. Should be able to see in there. The LEDs aren’t replaceable, but the drivers are. Everything in the old shop was T8’s with electronic ballasts, and some still running the original tubes. Everything in the new building pretty much has to be LEDs of some sort.

A few odds and ends, mostly 12V SMPS, and similar repair stuff, a few liters of paint and SBL (water proofing additive), for the tiles on the factory roof as a water proofing agent, it works.
SBL means Styrene Butadiene Latex, many makers sell it under their trade marks.

A power screw driver bit to drive screws with a drill, and some repairs to the car, headlight service (opened, chrome spray on a reflector, after total cleaning), and reinforcement to the CNG tank bracket.
Headlight repair was like $9, and the bracket repair was $20.

Then the car decided it was stolen, stopped in the middle of the road, had to be scanned, the immobilizer sensor was probably affected by damp, we had 8 inches in 8 hours last Wednesday.
That was expensive, $60 in all, then the sensor wire for engine rpm to the CNG unit broke, had to be joined up.

CNG allows me to travel in comfort at a very low cost.
Things have been quiet lately, not much time for repair work.

Here in India a 500 sheet pack of 70 grams per square meter paper is less than US$2.50,
It wasnt that great of a deal I know, compared to other things I've come across and purchased from that store. Its a mixed bag; some have gone on to others at a tidy profit, some I have kept and still use, some I wish I never bought and brought home. Some I wonder how it would have turned out.

They had a stand-up bass I could have got for $166 - WENT BACK THREE TIMES HEMMING AND HAWING OVER IT. Finally on the third time tempting myself, someone else bought it while I was wandering the store, trying to decide. Whoever donated it to the thrift lost the bridge, so it was unplayable as displayed. If it had the bridge and I could have heard how it sounded, I'd probably have it taking up space here.

That's a monster ! Good for small welding tasks ;-)

(No HDMI so I may have passed, but then....That's a monster ! Good for small welding tasks ;-)
Well I actually bought a vintage arc welding machine (and I went out to buy two more because I was so pleased with this one) aaand trying to use it as the transformer for audio amplifier 🤣

It is capable of 130A, and deliver 34Vrms when connected to 1 ohm load.
