Hi all, my first post here. Received my ACA yesterday and I`m carefully assembling it now. Here`s my question: It`s about the Keratherm backing. Am I supposed to use the white peel off piece? I want to make sure I don`t burn out the transistors with too much heat. The white area peels off a darker beige backing that is perforated. I know it sounds dumb but....want to be sure. One build video shows the Keratherm plus thermal grease. I know that`s wrong. Thanks
Peel the "white" (pink) piece off the backing. Don't do what Patrick does here at 13m31s (YouTube) where he cuts it out. Instead, peel off the pink bit and use that. Don't use grease.

Hi mlapalme,
I've noticed some of these Meanwell SMPS are quire reasonably priced, for example:
LRS-150F-24 MEAN WELL | Mouser Canada
So something like that might be another option.
Dennis
Thanks Dennis. This might be more user friendly.
But I think at this point, (also because both end up being the same price) I might purchase both and see if there is any audible difference between the two.
The meanwell seems more capable as well, so that's a plus.
Does anybody know what the name is for the power connector (e.g. part number) used for the ACA? I am interesting in getting standalone female connectors so I can make my own power cable to plug into the ACA from my own built 24V PSU. I assume these connectors are ok for a few amperes.....

Not sure if these are the same as come with the kit but its what I used in my ACA build
5.5mm x 2.5mm DC Female Chassis Power Socket - Panel Mount Connector Jack - CCTV 5055538198724 | eBay
Ok.....thank you.....5.5 x 2.5mm DC......it should be something like this from a local store:
https://www.elextra.dk/details/H14411/dc-stik-oe55-x-25-x-14mm-i-plasthus-hq
....probably not "Neutrik quality" but may be ok......now I know what to look for if I want to use the chassis mount connector that is included in the kit.

Hello,
HAHA, Wait untill you get the chassis and check which Neutrik connector can be mounted using the existing holes. Neutrik are used all over the world and sold and produced in big numbers. They are cheap. I mean if you spend serious money on everything else why not go for a professional. The other connector is nice for a printer. Greetings, Eduard

Ok......I will wait and see.
Think I also confused myself what is the female and what is the mail connector. The chasisis mount connector is the female......even that there is a "male" inside.....
Often the connector where the power is.....is the female.....like in main power connectors.....for safefy reasons.......but connectors can be designed in many ways

Hello,
ALL the info you need is on the Neutrik website. Because you are using them for 24 volts it will be not so important as using them for 230 volts. If you get the chassis just check which one will fit and find the corresponding plug. Usually there will be images to show which parts are meant to be used together.

Hi Dennis and Mlapalme
I'm using a Meanwell LRS-100-24 for my ACA. It's quite a bit cheaper and it's perfect for this application. The current draw of my ACA (with R15 mod) is only 61W (measured), so you don't need the 150W SMPS.

Hello!
First post on this thread.
I just finished stuffing the parts on the 2 boards.
I would like to power the amp with 24 volts so I bought the Meanwell LRS-100-24. I want to put the power supply inside the chassis if there's still enough space. Any tips on doing this?
Thank you.

Thank you. But how much watt is that?About 1.5A/channel
