Finding the most efficient speakers is key. Fullrange at 95+spl the better. Pushing a low efficiency speaker takes away your headroom with the 5 watt amp. Look for a speaker or kit that's at least 95 or better. You can build your own. Plenty of designs. Pick your poison.

I used as my headphone amp, for my DT990.No one use as headphone amp ?
We'll see They are currently on the wrong side of the planet, but we're shipping this batch in bulk by air to apologize for taking so long, and they still have to get through customs and loaded in to fulfillment center in LA, at which point they can then "ship" to you. So fingers crossed
Any updates? I Pre ordered. Getting excited.
Hey Billyk, would you please translate.
Sorry!!
I built a nice little integrated setup with my ACAs. I am using a Nelson Pass B1 buffer with one of those inexpensive stepped attenuators from china from eBay. I purchased the PCB and jfets from him and followed his part recommendations. As a source I am using an ODAC, that is an ESS 9023 DAC designed by nwavguy and available as a built board from yoyodyn and JDSlabs (no affiliation) The speakers are mMarKen6P I purchased as a flat pack kit from Planet-10 HiFi. The Mark Audio 6Ps are 3" full range drivers and came from Dave D at Planet10 matched and EnABLed. I use a PC with either Foobar2000 or JRiver as a player. For me this is a magic combo. I also use an NHT 8" powered sub under my desk, but not all the time.

Production is complete. They're being shipped by air to the US Monday. If it all goes well we'll hit a Mid August shipping date, or earlier if customs doesn't prove to be too much of a hassle.
Attached are some pictures. The red is likely to be a limited edition color and not offered in the future, so if you like it grab a pair now to be sure. So far most people are going for the grey/black but it's definitely a personal taste preference. I really like the black/red because it's different and looks really nice in the flesh.

Advice Please
Hi all
I have a pair of Westlake HR7's 4-ways. Active HRX 4-way crossover.
I use a Crown K2 on the bottoms and am wondering if the ACA monoblocs would do a good job on the JBL 2122H mid bass, 2426J mid horn, and 2403 horn tweets. I would order 4 kits. Would be great fun building them. Is 5 watts Class A enough? All drivers are super efficient.
What about heat??? Being Class A
Whats the s/n ratio on these? My current system is extremely quiet between tracks. I use 3 rebuilt Boulder 160 amps in stereo at this time. The 160 is the first amp Boulder made using the famous Deane Jensen discrete 990 gain stage. Although dated, these are pretty musical amps. I was lucky enough to get 4 of them 3 years ago when NBC Studios in Burbank,CA did a house cleaning. Still, it would be fun to use amps I built myself. Not to mention these little monoblocs are darn good looking.....The 160's are in good shape but....dated looking for sure.
Thanks for the input guys....and gals

The heat output is low at 20 watts per monoblock.
The amps are really quiet IMHO- in fact all Pass amps have impressed me with this.
And you're considering doing my fantasy- a row of ACA's! How cool that would be!
I think you'll love it
The mid horn driver is 16 ohm. Would 20 watts drive them properly at a reasonable volume? The others are 8 ohms.
Would you recommend including the Soft Start & Speaker Turn-On Delay and DC Protector Boards?
This will be fun
In fact I will use 6 of these for now but will order 8. Once again...the soft start circuitry sounds like a good option to add? Can I get some input on that?
The red and black is the direction I am going
Ken
The ACA amps will run the Westlake speakers very well. Go for it!
As for power, being quad-amped makes for good use of the available power, and will likely be much louder than you expect.

The amps don't draw much, and it depends on how you're powering them. The supplied PSU's don't have a big input surge like a linear supply would, and each one is pretty low, so what's it gonna be for 6 120watts? Not much
Smart to order 8 if you're getting the red and black. There's a mystery soft-start project we're developing that will be perfect for you. In the mean time just turn on the big amps separately.

Softstart is completely unnecessary on the ACA. It has no capacitor bank to charge.
This is going to be fun. I will place my order right away. I see your in Denver and was wondering if you attend RMAF. I consult for resonessencelabs.com and have
worked for westlakeaudio.com as well. Will be there this fall.
I have done a fair bit of soldering in my day...but only have a very basic understanding of circuitry.
Looking forward to this.
I live not far from the RMAF venue and would love to meet up there!
Shoot me a PM and we can coordinate.
Will do..
