Hey guys. I'm now using 1uf cap on tweeter only. I didn't like l-pad. I feel very good about the sound no matter what music I play. It constantly pleases me now.

I also pushed the speakers bit to the wall so i have a decent listening distance.

What do you think about doubling the woofers Choky? I heard Sigma 18 and I decided I want to move more air. I'm still thinking about the Beta 8 too. Alpha is very good but i'm going to at least try Beta 8 as soon I have some money.

variant with one 15" and Alpha6 is made for non-critical positioning in room ; with two 15" (I think same one - both Betas , not mix with Sigma 18 :clown: ) you'll certainly move more air , but position in room will be more tricky

And what about Selenium 15PW3 ?You told me Zen that without no doubt ,Beta will sound better in OB ,but u did not told me why and i hate to be boring splinter in eye molesting you over telephone :wave:.In my humble (and it can't be humble enough :clown: ) opinion ,only shortcoming of PW is Al dust cap.
Btw , i am still enjoying my cross variant to OB with selenium st324 & alpha 6" in BR box ,but as i will have enough money 4 completing OB project soon enough ,i need to consider all options.

I must look in data and find few notes I made few years ago , when I tried both - EMinence and Selenium ;

I can't be sure just from memory .......

and - what you say - sound you get with little Alpha + tweet is surprising?

It sure is...i tested NAD 325bee + Kef iQ3 + sony xe220cdp combo vs alpha&sel + Trends 10.1+sony x222es and my system sounds totally different with more details and much wider imaging.However ,i heard some things on his sys which i could not hear at mine ,but he heard much more of details on my sys instead of his.We both concluded that Alpha&Sel sound good and he is considering building boxes same as mine.Strange thing is ,that he has lot less ,but more detailed bass on iQ3 😕 ,which is strange because of alpha's 118 Hz fs ?!

Sorry, I remembered Beta15 to have higher Fs, seems I remembered wrong, but Qts is a bit higher on 15PW3(0.61) ... lets say they are quite close, but I do remember now that Beta15 is kind of a strange creature with lower Fs than many of the other Eminence, even compared to the 18inches :clown: but Beta15 seem to have a deep conical and ribbed cone where as 15PW3 is more flat and curved ... I suppose they sound quite different ... theoretically Beta15 ought to be more bass oriented and the 15PW3 more midrange oriented

Something is going on out there ... Strassacker cannot deliver any Alpha15

Hey guys! My friend tomas foudn waterfalls of beta8, alpha6 and many other PA speakers at http://prodance.cz/protokoly.php?AnchorID=52&Lng=CZ

Its czech, but you all can read numbers and graphs, right? 🙂

Anyways, i'm not considering beta8 but i'm thnking about gamma 10 now, since it looks better at around 1kHz and overall to ~2kHz, i would use it in combination with A6.

I have the 15PW3 with paper dust cap. The midrange is good. Use 2 per side, if you can.

Very popular with the local wildlife, as seen in photo below...

OT of course, but...

Me and some of my best friend used to call each other "lizards". I've got a big wooden lizard as a wedding present. ..🙂

Now I see that there's a connection between lizards and speakers...hehehe :clown: :devilr:
