Doh! Oops... I was searching on Mouser and the MKC are listed under polypropylene. Stupid mistake.

After the discontinuation of Polycarbonate film (end of 2000) as a capacitor dielectric by the only manufacturer, Bayer AG/Germany, we have removed all MKC ranges (metallized capacitors) and FKC ranges (film and foil construction) using this capacitor film from our range of products latest after inventory of film has run out

don`t know why but I`m a little affraid when comes buying from ebay...I`ll assume the risk this time too...

I`m considering bypassing C2, C3 and C4 with 1uF

ordered 10 x 2.2uF/250V VISHAY ROE MKC1860
6 for decoupling C2, C3 and C4 and the other 4 as decoupling for the psu
looked for some silmics too but there are two different types... elna silmic ros and elna silmic ii rfs
which one will serve me best?

Hello to everybody contributing to this forum
! I'd like to build something of discussed stufff, but reading current forum I have a question if somebody have build it using 2sk170x2 and IRFP9240.
I understand that IRFP240-R DS(ON)= 0.180Ω, but IRFP9240-R DS(ON)= 0.50Ω
Also IRFP9240 has smaller transconductance at necessary drain current, but I already have a great bunch of them at my disposal.
What will bee the consequence in power dissipation and audio quality & so on.

240/9240 are dirt cheap and easily available everywhere in the world

not exactly the same with 2SJ74BL , and that can be sole (and good enough) reason to make Aleph flipped in polarity

already done , and - even if I personally didn't tried , I see no reason why it will be different than regular one , in any characteristic

The main reason to build everything upside down is that I have 8 pairs of 2SK170BL marched & bunch off IRFP9240.
How many output mosfets You suggest to use to reduce their 0.5 Ohm resistance effect.

do remember of course that if you dont actually need the extra power, that paralleling a bunch of the IRF will increase capacitance at the same time as lowering resistance.
