Gadut, you cut the third color off in '49.<= Badut
MPS = MP Strip
MPC = MP Corrugated
Corrugated means wavy.
Meander would have been a better word, but Japanese to English is not always 1-on-1.
(as Francais vers l'Anglais, and di bahasa Indonesia ke Inggris)

Yes this resistor plate ( metalband ) are corrugated = have wavy form.
MPC74 work nicely in Aleph J circuit after my experimentation
you like it classic Panasonic or other resistors technology
that great freedom of Diyer & have fun
🙂

Now try Vishay CPF
For source resistors they are the ones
For high current feedback (eg F5 and F6) try and get E code with TCR of 25ppm.
Not saying you will definitely hear an improvement, but for comparison it is a worthwhile exercise.

Those ones at mouser are N models rated at 200ppm
Noticed low ppm value E code 😉

I have FuFu datasheets on paper, >25 year old ones.
About the time I opened up a couple (without hammer), plus meanderbands by other manufacturers.

I think that our founding fathers were full of creativity 😀
I just returned home, with 1 additional power cable which was bought on computer store. PowerUp AJ, play Audiophile folders :
- When you say nothing at all : live, femàle singer, dunno her name.
- Very thought of you : male with great low bass
- Blowing in the wind : great recording
All i can say is WOW, low is solid, mid is crunchy, high is sparkling (damn bad choice of words, i cant make a poet like those review website)

BUT my joy is ended for 3 songs, my 3year twin boys just came into the room (ordinary 4x3m bedroom with no treatment, no fancy power plug/cables) and as always asked their favourite : 1D.. anyone here knows them? crappy bad recording, but my boys keep jumping and laughing.
After several 1D songs in the same folder, next is Cleopatra Stratan. good recording actually, i also like the song eventhough dont understand any single words
Overall i'm happy daddy, no way I'll use my mauro penasa anymore 😀
notes: I really want to show off on my facebook, for sure my friends will be jealous on my build. BUT i'm afraid that if one of them give the comment about parts price and my wife read it, hell yaa 😱

Just tell them a good friend getting out of the hobby gave you the parts for free

Funny if you know this one.
Congratulation Gadut that five stars diy amp work.
Thanks for first impressions. Best regards
🙂
yes thats her, I really2 like her voice. My audiophile music copied to sd player mostly come from the Album Best Audiophile collection 1-7, and other Best Male and Female album compilation. my laptop is broken, resist to spend another $500 for a new laptop, i'd rather build another amp 😀That your first musical breaths of stereo AJ

I'm free today, but too lazy to continue on SIT 😀 I'll enjoy AJ for a while and let it burn in hot.

This track by Diana Krall (or any other one from the same album) is pretty good for comparing differences between amps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ih-8p1aGzo
For bass I refer to this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD1L_LOxme0
(heaps of others that my brain can't recall at this point in time)

Hello all. I'm finishing up the chassis for an Aleph J build and have a question about the size of the heat sinks I am using. Here is a picture from a few weeks back that show them in the partially finished chassis....

These heatsinks are 12.6 inches deep (~32 cm), 10.5 inches tall (~25 cm), the fins are 2.6 inches deep (~6.5 cm) at their longest, and the base plate is .4 inches thick (1 cm). The fin depth measurement varies, but my best guess at the average depth is around 5.5 inches (14 cm). The fins are .4 inches apart (1 cm). I have attempted to download a couple of programs to work out their ratings, but have had little success due to my not fully understanding the programs, and due to the programs being free samples that don't have full functionality. I am hoping that one or more of you who are familiar with building the Aleph J can tell me if these heat sinks seem sufficient for a regular build based upon this thread. I have tried comparing these sinks with the ones in the chassis available for sale at the DIYA store, and they seem big enough, but I am hoping for an experienced person's opinion based upon a quick look at it. Hopefully, I have uploaded the photo properly. Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for the super fast reply Zen Mod!. And thanks for all of the knowledge and useful
advice that I have absorbed from you by reading this and other threads. It is much appreciated.

Nice looking heatsinks. Where did you find them? I have not found such nice looking heatsinks in the US. Finish your amp with some nice wood and it will look fantastic.
Yes nice looking heatsinks there I'm not far away from Toronto in Burlington did you buy them locally?
