Hi Harry,
I 'm not working on a softstart. I was just curious how you made it. I am however working on a dc-protection.
Maybe a little off-topic but the subject of dc protection is in my head too much lately.
It started bugging me since I learned how Hypex makes their DC protection: between the PS and the amp (not in the signalpath...) and not between the amp and the speaker (in the signalpath...). does anybody have some info on that or even better: a scheme and PCB layout?

Don't worry Steen,
when you are desperate solutions can be found. 😀
I am working on another computer (with spelling checker) on my messages on the ONO, so I will post very soon.
Greetings, Harry

back again with my aleph 5!
I made a little upgrade, I went from 4 x 47000uf BC's to 4 66000uf mallory and it made some real difference, more dynamics, more stage and more micro/macro information, the music is going easyer and it's more relaxed. Some photo,s Grtz teake

Hi there!
It lookes like a disease! I upgraded the aleph again, put some more capacitance, 6 big coolingblocks, silmic 220uf's, 2 x 625va and 2 x 2,2mH inductance, and again I could hear more. Bigger stage, deeper, more backgroundfinesse, but also cleaner, les warm. The heatsinks are getting handwarm, between 20 and 30 degrees. sometimes there is little hum wich gets bigger and than dissipears.
I wonder if I should put R19 out to see if I get more? Any answer is welkom! And I am going through! Grtz Teake
ps; some pictures.

Teake,
that is Serbian to tell you he will be climbing through your kitchen window tonight.
50 bucks if you're waiting for him with a baseball bat.
Mallory caps still tickle my taste buds.
ZModsky,
intense-tralla keeps modding his gear because it makes no difference whether he opens or shuts his livingroom curtains if he builds more amp projects.

Hi Teake,
Really looking good! And probably sounds great too. Next stop: monoblocks. 😀
Or changing your Pre to a Pass Pre for balanced connections.
Keep on having fun!
Greetings, Harry

I wish he quit modding his Pass stuff. Every time he turns it on the lights go out over here... (I live in a city next to his...)
