Aksa Lender P-MOS Hybrid Aleph (ALPHA) Amplifier

Of course - as B.B. is still in Beta test, but so far similar changes and cap on LTP is similar and source resistors are 0.22R in series parallel. Aleph feedback of 3x0.39R is correct. Could also use qnty 4x 0.47R 3W ERX in parallel. Negative lead of LTP cap needs to go to power ground but that will be fixed in production.

This is a five star thread if ever there was one. Excellent work by all involved. I'm afraid some people get their kicks from being obnoxious.

I could not agree more.

btw alibear, I don't often see the name Alan spelled that way, seems 'Allen' is more common, at least over here. My father's middle name and mine is 'Alan', good to know we aren't alone! haha

Cheers,
Gable

Who is getting close to having another one built? I think we have 4 (Vunce, Pcgab, Alibear, Juntuin) besides myself. Anyone else?

It’s a real simple amp to make if you look at the parts count. I can say honestly that you can skip the pots - not a single one is needed. Amazing to have an adjustment free Class A DC-coupled output amp.

I just got my boards today. What great quality. I just need to decide on a power supply.

I also received the KSA992FBU from bk856er. Thank you for doing this.

I’m not going to be able to do anything for the next few weeks since I will be on travel for work. I’m really looking forward to hearing how it sounds. I just need to be a little patent

Brad

Here is the revised schematic for the Alpha BB. Waiting for concurrence of changes by Aksa.

I think we can eliminate the one pot for the LTP. I have never needed to adjust it, so we should just remove it and use fixed resistor or combine with resistor above.

I have not tested the 3 x 0.33R in parallel for the Aleph CCS sense resistor yet, but believe this to be the ideal value.

We are nearing 100k views in 67 days which is not too shabby. But some wise guy just voted a 1 to pull the 5 star rating down to 4 stars. If you haven’t voted please do so.
Thanks,
X

For the record, I gave that vote.

I wasn't interested in this thread nor vote on it. I was simply reading some other threads, but every now and then I was forced to read full resolution pictures of OP's schematics and pictures in numerous other threads. Those pictures are so big that it become difficult to read the threads on my smartphone, which was really annoying.

So I decided to express my discontent with a low vote.

Very happy with how Alpha sounds. I have been trying to use passive cooling using heatsinks that I already have but I'm not happy with the results, too hot for my liking.picture is of the last attempt. I am still running 1.9A bias. Using CPU coolers and fans works well, just the fan noise worries me. I will keep on experimenting.
Thanks for all the info and support.

Alan
