Any questions...just ask.
Before tackling amplifiers, a few tips are needed....when you're ready.
What model is the Triplett VTVM....and the Eico tuner.
Dan.
You mean "tackling amps with a scope?? I've been working on amps, almost exclusively, til I started playing with the R2R, CDPs, etc...

Helped my buddy get a bunch of antique radios/consoles checked out for Kutztown, and got a new toy to play with!! And the learning curve continues....
Telequipment D51... It powers up fine, he gave me a box of leads, so I'll have to figure out what goes where,,, and a manual to study for a while!
It appears to be tube powered...

John

Just plug in a test lead, set to 'auto trigger', put your finger on the end and start playing with the controls.
The test probes have an earthed alligator clip....connect to chassis earth, but never connect it to 110V/240V power connections.

Thanks for responding so quickly!! I just got home with it, gotta find a manual DL,, He gave me a box full of leads, I gotta figure out which ones go with it, looks like it uses banana plug leads... However, there a a few sets that have the fitting that fits teh VTVM...
I'll take it slow, and figure it out...

I didn't find a D51 manual with quick searching this morning.
That said, you don't need the specific manual in this case.
Oscilloscope - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia will get you started.
There are plenty of other tutorials on the net.

So,,,,,, I have Garrard SL95B thats been in the attic for many years, I cleaned, and re-lubed it, and got it to run well manually, but not automatically... If you have experience with turntables, maybe we can sort that out also!!!!!!
I'm a semi retired electrician, always wanted to learn tube audio,,, So, I've been working at it for a year or so...

Long overdue update!!!
The stylus came today, finally got to hear this TT again, after many years in the attic,,, Cartidge is an old Empire 80EE...
Now I remember why I bought this TT back in the day! Surprised at how quiet it is, no rumble at all... thanks again for all your guidance with this...

John
