Joca, the dac only has USB in. You can connect it to a pre amp or integrated amp through balanced or single ended connectors if you buy the dac with differential shield. You will also need a power supply for the dac, a chassis and some small parts. If you wish to connect your cd player to the dac you will need a spdif to usb converter. I don't know if something like that is on the market...
Hi factory2nd,
It is only inverted on the opamp output module I believe and this can be corrected in software. Just swap the cables inside the chassis, no one but you will notice.. 😀
Did you update to the latest firmware? Maybe it is already fixed in there.
Ciao!
Do
I am using the discrete output with the latest firmware and it is inverted.
No problem, just switch it internally.
Obviously i've switched the cables🙂🙂🙂,just wanted to know if was just mine or others,
is it possible to update the dac without the front panel?
In wich consist the firmware update?
I've bought it just one month ago, i hope it's updated

Hi, i've tried to connect my Sennheyser HD600 directly at the output of the board and them works very well, you'll probably need to attenuate a little bit the volume from the player approx 2db in my case,a friend of mine don't attenuate nothing at all!!!
So, whth about the firmware update???

Yes i have. I called the CNC shop today.., and told them that as soon as they have the buttons ready I would order the real amount.
They told me that they would have them ready by tomorrow

Hi Sonny,
I bring the topic on driving headphones up again, and I hope you can help clarify this question/topic. It seems you are using B&W - P7's..!? I just looked up their specs, and they are 111db/V and 22 ohm load.
But how about driving headphones such as the Sennheiser HD800 that are 102db/V and 300 ohm. Less sensitive, and the high impedance pull less juice from the preamp. Will there be enough voltage swing to drive those?
Or the Audeze LCD-3 that are also 102db, and 110 ohm..?
I'm looking for new high end cans, and if possible I would love to drive them directly, not having to add an expensive headphone amp.
Thanks 🙂
Morten

A complete set is shipped now.
1 Frontpanel with display.
1 encoder
1 DAC with output stage
1 20 pol ribbon cable
1 10 pol ribbon cable from frontpanel to the Fronpanel connector on the dac
1 power cable to the DAC from the preamp board.
1 6 pol ribbon cable for the encoder. Encoder cable is made the right way now.
Please accept my apologies for the long delay.
And please check 1 extra time when you assemble it, that you do not børn it.. It is tested, so i know everything works.

There is plenty drive for those cans. The output impedance of the preamp is 10R but it can easily be changed. I have discovered and issue with 10R for driving the p7 and it would be much less with the other cans.
With P7 it is very very loud at -20dB and it can go to +6dB

Thanks for the clarification Sonny. Excellent news, that this preamp has the drive to run (for a preamp) low imedance, so we don't need to invest in a dedicated head-amp.
I guess when driving 22 ohm cans, the output impedance set to 10 ohm is too much, resulting in a damping factor on only 2.2. With the 300 ohms cans this should be no problem.
