SMD soldering method:
I use a hot plate with a pan to preheat the pcb, then use a hot air pencil from the top to flow the solder.
All the components larger than the MELF resistors were soldered with a fine tip iron. You must be very careful not to overheat the CDE film caps, heat is their enemy. Apply a bit of flux and get in and out quickly.

Enjoy your build,
SMD soldering is therapeutic ;)

Hi Vunce,
I also use a similar method method with paste and hot plate / hot air. I find that it is neater and saves time. I use a hypodermic syringe and 21ga tapered (blue) plastic nozzle to apply paste. No hot iron tip needed. It’s very precise and equivalent to applying flux. But then all you have to do is plop the MELF or chip resistor, or active on the pads with the paste. All the parts are placed (you don’t have to place all of the project is huge like 200 to 700 parts). Heating with a hot plate on the bottom to get close to liquidus point (125C) and then let the hot air pencil take it up to the rest allows pinpoint control of local heating to minimize time a part sees above 155C. This temp varies for the paste you use. A very low speed air flow eliminates blowing the parts around. The paste has flux built in and the whole thing wets and makes a nice fillet joint. No cleaning needed hence “no clean paste” designation. Here are some examples of my success with this method.

It seems the only source for SST404, so i tried to order some, that also can build a nice (Beauty) one.
Finish to checkout and no happy end. It does not work, tree times replied to support service.
Page is showing no ECS....
I can push the button for checkout and nothing happens.
That is not how should a big Electronic supplier should work, or i am wrong?

If others have same problem or can help me out, please let me no.

Best Regards

Hagen.
