I might be wrong, but I think someone didn't put the right sticker on. If the numbers at the bottom are how many pins it is, because it's 4 pins. I have looked on ebay and there are quite a few with loudness. Making sure who to buy from is it.

jordheis, I figued at this point I can't hurt it any worse I took the back off and tried some cleaner and rotating a lot and it was a no go.

Dang. Wish you had succeeded. 4 pins is interesting (vs 8 like in that old post). I'll have to pop mine open soon and take a closer look.
Well, keep us posted when you get it replaced. Good luck!

Got the new volume pot. I went with a guy in China on ebay. After looking at a bunch of sites, I got to thinking why some looked different. Now I may have been overthinking, and I'm sure they all would work, but I tried to get what I thought might be the closest thing, so I found this guy on eBay that said the ones that began with RH were China knockoffs. The one's he sells are made in Japan. I took his word for it. What I noticed is the ones from China have silver posts and the ones from Japan have copper. Again, I maybe overthinking. There is a price difference. Didn't take long to get and I would buy off him again.
Put it in yesterday and it works perfectly. Put the meter on it, and it was 0.00 like you said it should be. Everything works and sounds as it should. Man have I learned a lot from this. Again and again thanks for all of your help.
kind regards, John

Excellent! I hope that now the cover can go on, and you will get years of good use from your pre-amp. 🙂
Please message me with a link to the pot you purchased.
