Acko, reagarding PSU. In my previous diy dacs, I found that dedicted battery/supercaps power for clock and analog made wonders. If I will want to go with dedicated seperate PSUs for some of 3.3V or 1.2V, while still using +/- 12-15V for the rest - will be that possible without extra super hussle? Is there possibility power clock separately?
Hello, interested by the product and I see lots of development details in this thread (which is nice and keeps alive the interests of the audience ).
Could you summarize the target price and the different configurations? As I see it is made of several boards, I imagine several combination are possible at different prices.
two extra points of interest
Thanks a lot for info and the efforts on this promising multichannel dac board.

- I am personally interested in a current driven I/V stage 8 rca outputs (seems current driven ouput provide better results than voltage driven on ESS dac chips) : it require more opamps and more space on the board, but it could be an ineresting option.
- As I have had a bad experience with DIYinKH 8 channel dac because of the switch off capacitor discharging shout in the drivers, I wondered if your design was preventing this or if you plan to add microrelays in the outputs stage to switch them off early.

Hello @BenoitMathieu, thank you for your interest. This DAC is largely modular with the Core Module consisting of the 9039PRO chip in current output mode and x8 ch
I-V ccts laid out on the same module close to the DAC chip. Then all separate power supply modules for each section (no sharing). The Controller is a separate module with isolated connections. Clocks can be on-board or external. All these arrangements for the highest performance and flexibility.,So there is a fair bit of parts and complexity on the main board itself. After this pinouts to the application specific board for 1 to 8 channels configuration as required for the use case. For the initial batch, most modules are already included and connected up for a finished unit ready to power up and listen - for evaluation. If successful then we can discuss about different options (and prices) 🙂

A combination of, power sequencing, soft start, mute and standby functions are used to minimise pop noise during power on/off events without having to use relays. Will check these later for effectiveness…As I have had a bad experience with DIYinKH 8 channel dac because of the switch off capacitor discharging shout in the drivers, I wondered if your design was preventing this or if you plan to add microrelays in the outputs stage to switch them off early.
If we use fifo buffer/isolator and ess chip with the same clock - does it mean that we can turn off ess ASRC/dpll ? (just one clock freq, using HQP to output all in one rate)duly noted, I will get back to you again for the final configuration🙂
For the new 9039 chip, it is the Sync mode that effectively does this and is for both pcm and dsd. I am also curious about this ASync mode that someone (banned) claimed is just as good …
Really impressive looking!Time to move all to the launchpad ☺️
