That will work fine as long as you have the lcd upside-down with the front facing the bulb, so the image is the right way once projected.
hey lowjacker,
yes, it will.
i'd prefer a condenser in front of ur bulb.it'll gain your light output.
that's it. fans are strongly recommended for the bulb as well as for the display.

thanx guys......
i'll try it without the condensor and then add one if i need a brighter pic...........
so, upside down and facing the light..........i'm guessing the objective lens flips the pic horizontally and vertically........
thanx again........

another thing i forgot to ask.....
if i flip the screen over the controller board will be on the top....how do i support it out of the way of the light path?....can you just glue it to the top of the projection case?.....or any other board braced inside?

Where is your second fresnell? I don't believe it will work this way. I have used three foil fresnells (f=~310 mm) on top of each other.(it can with two)
The first two on top of each other have a total focal of 155mm (1/2 of 310) an so i can place my lamp at 15,5 cm from the fresnells to get parallel light beams. The thirt wil convert those beams to one point again. The Tft is at 0,5 cm from the last fresnell.
o<||=|>
This is how I put in the tft:
I hope this is of any help.

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

thanx man, that's exactly what i was looking for........
a pic like that is even better.........just a bracket off the lcd bracket and another piece of wood (or whatever) to hold the board.....
the fresnels that i have are the kind that you get from those ebay rip off deals....they're approx. 8x11 and have the ring grooves on only 1 side.......i think they might actually be two halves.......
i'll finger it out by trial and error.........that's how i'll learn more anywho......

heya lowjacker,
i got an idea on that cos i have the same issue to solve.
there are holes in the board where the panel was mounted.
take some long nuf brass or ally tubes and screw em on the holes as well as on the ground plate of ur enclosure.
the tubes will not dangling in the light path cos their distance is wider than the screen.
i think that'll work.

yeah that's true........
those screw holes are wider......they may come in handy
i gotta idea as to how things are going to work out but until i get the chance to assemble the whole thing i can only speculate.......

heya lowjacker,
things are in progress. last night i made a hack for the scart.
we've discussed it on the german board (thx to futtnik, metallhuhn, motionride, dani).
look the difference from composite to scart (using the rgb).
the one with scart
the one with composite(a/v)
and that's the scematic for the wiring. dani found a method not messing around w switching a 2nd monitor by means of 75ohm resistors and 270 Ohm resistor. so it works with nvidia - cards too.

the pic i got with a simple composite hook-up was really good.......
when i soldered the leads to the inputs it degraded some but i think i might have mis-soldered one and it's not making a direct connection...i think the signal is going through the solder to get to the input......i need to resolder it and try again......
but when i hooked it up with regular little alligator clamps using a composite signal it was a great picture......i'm not sure how it will look when projected but it's good on the screen......
i know the vga is better.......but i don't trust my soldering skills enough to attempt it right now.......
perhaps at another time.......

well, the resoldering went a little better....i wonder if there's a better
i wonder if there's another way to connect to them......
any ideas?

tried just wrapping the wires around the inputs....when they're not touching each other the pic is good........but they keep sliding and the pic blinks......i need a way to attach them without the solder.......

heya buddy, sounds good.
but w/o soldering iron....no chance.
get a 15 Watt pencil and solder-flux at radioshack or home-depot for 10 bux or lend one from the neighborhood....
any pix?

i got first results w a trial setup this weekend. well, my cam sux..that's why no pics of the pj but some of the setup.
i've put two foil fresnels ea 310mm fl and a cutted glass in the genuine frame of the module the backlight was in formerly.
thats the 70 W HQI TS Lamp w condenser
and that is a result of the german board ( duffy) also from a trial setup.
the diagonal is 60" at a throw of approx. 100" made with the video-in

i have no new pics to show yet.....i'm waiting on payday to get my last few pieces to begin construction......
i'm going to go with a simple straight line light, fresnel, lcd, lens setup....like my one drawing....if it needs more after that i'll tinker until i get what i want......

well, got paid finally and ordered my fans......
now i need to wait and see how things settle after the bills to get my lens......
i can't believe things are going to be so tight that $17 will sway things.....well, it can't rain all the time..........
fans are on the way.....lens will be my last thing to know how long my enclosure will have to be........
then construction begins.......😀
until then...........

yee haw!!!!
my fans came today and they're awesome.....
i placed the two fresnels i have together and came up with what i believe is a 155mm focal length....i got the measurements ready to go and a whole assembley plan in my head......just waiting for the ordering of the projection lens......this really is the suckin' a$$ part.....the damn waiting.......
well, when i get it ordered and it gets here i'll begin construction and be posting pics every step of the way.......
tons of pics to come......hopefully in the near future.....
