hi i have purchased an accuphase c200x amplifier and i had to change all the electrolytic and polyester capacitors.
The line part sounds very good but the phono has a hum which I cannot remove, I have checked the transistors and integrated and it does not go away, someone has happened or can help me. I also look for the service manual which I cannot get .
Cheers

For some reason I have not worked out yet accessing this URL for me instantly gave me access to the download.

Thanks but it does not work from what I see it is difficult to get the one from the accuphase c200x
I have no problem reading the PDF which shows a schematic including all the plug-in cards including their circuits with the components shown and parts list .
That is the Accuphase C200X --so whats the problem --can you not access it ?--I can.

When I put it to work it was overheated and the phono has been humming for a long time which I have not been able to solve the problem.
The scheme if I can open it but it does not correspond to the c200x

If you read the statement above the schematic it says that various small changes were made to the circuit as time went on .
Thats perfectly normal for a company trying to improve its design --that is the 1976 version , the basic circuit should be near the same in that case as they still class it as the same model .
All you need to do is trace the phono circuit looking out for any components used to smooth the power supply to it like old dry electrolytics as the phono section will be the most sensitive.
If the circuit is totally different then somebody has made changes to it unless you can dig up any earlier versions of the schematic which show the difference but the company statement that it is still basically the same model without adding MK #,s to it should mean the changes weren't major.

From the same forum thread where the link was found, Accuphase C200x is a later version that apparently uses IC circuitry, so it won't have the "original" qualities that make the C200 and others desirable to collectors and audiophiles. I think there would also be different power supplies, layout, wiring etc. regardless of whether the circuits are equivalent, perform better or not, quieter, noisier etc.
Well that goes back to my original question ---who has got or where is the original schematic ? --and doesn't that make the wording by the company on "small changes " look a bit silly and "a stranger to the truth " ?
Model C-200 was the first preamp made by Accuphase.
C-200X is a completely different generation of a preamp.
Do you own a scope to show us the hum ? Is it 50 or 100 Hz ?

Then why has the original poster (OP) started this thread with the heading ------Accuphase C200-----X ?
That puts everybody off track.
That puts everybody off track.
For my eyes the headline is Accuphase c200x.
You can do a picture search in seconds.
Back to original problem please.

I have not and only does in line phono nothing very good sound, it has a first class construction surpassing a preamplifier is of the modern high level.
And to my eyes as well so why say in post #10 --C200 ?
You cant get back to the original problem till till its known for sure if we are ACTUALLY talking about a C-200 not a C-200X and that's your words .
If the different specification are not the same and to reiterate Accuphase says they made minor/small changes in 1976 then what version are we dealing with ?

I am not sure I understand you.I have not and only does in line phono nothing very good sound, it has a first class construction surpassing a preamplifier is of the modern high level.
It was : hum on phono only - right ?
Please try to detect it is 50 or 100 Hz to proceed.
Is a signal there on phono, can you listen to records,
is the hum below signal level or not ?
This would be the accuphase c200x

The download link does not work (adapted to your computer).
So the music is playing, the turntable is in working order and
turntable ground attached ?
Please tell us : hum present without tonearm cable also, with
phono input open and shorted ?

If without connecting anything to the phono input it makes noise it seems that it comes from the source and is filtered by two capacitors + - 10000UF
